Hearing loss - ear pain

I've been plagued with hearing problems and ear pain

for at least 10 years! . . . First I had sudden

hearing loss - was given Predizone and recovered some

hearing.

However, seven primary physicians, and four ear

specialists later, I've finally discovered what is, at

least part of, the problem.

Originally the doctors told me I had Mienere's. . . I

resisted that notion at the time, since I never

experienced the dizziness that accompanies Mienere's.

(The last ear doctor told me last year I never did

Mienere's.) I've been complaining to every doctor that

I have pain that centers about the ear that has

hearing loss. I knew my ear got worse when I ate

sweets.

My ear responded to Nystatin (which, thanks to this

group, I realize treats yeast mainly in the digestive

system). Also thanks to someone's post here, I

realized the difference between yeast and fungus

during the same time my ear was getting more

aggravated with bumpy areas extending towards my

cheek. This is fungus!

The good news . . . I started eating raw garlic . ..

within 24 hours, my ear felt normal for the first time

in years! . . . I'm continuing with garlic . . . I

know 24 hours won't fix my ear. I'm convinced that the

problem has been a fungal infection, probably from the

beginning!

However, my question is . . . how can so many doctors

miss something that should be so obvious? Isn't that

one of the first thing they check DOGS for?

One of our friends who owned some hearing aid stores

is incredulous that the doctors missed it too.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that the damage to my

hearing is permanent. I don't know if I should even

bother seeing a doctor now. I would like to bend the

ear of all the doctors I've seen, but I doubt they

would care!

When I first got involved in implant support, a

neurologist speaking to our group commented on the

hearing loss he saw among implant women. Asking our

group if we had experienced such, about 10% of the

women held up their hand.

Any other ladies here having ear problems?

Rogene
