Subject: Post - More information about the Doctors in Florida

Subj: More information about the Doctors in Florida Date: 5/31/02 3:29:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time From: SCliniqueGirl@... You can post this to the group if you would like. In response to someone wanting more information about the Doctors in Florida, let me tell you..... One of the very fine ladies in ilena's support group sent out a letter a while back, basically saying we needed to stop going to all those Doctors that don't know anything about the effect of silicone on out bodies. I was ready to listen because I have been to over a dozen different kinds of Doctors in Asheville, NC, where I live, trying to find some answers. I had no idea what kind of Doctor I needed to see, but I scheduled an appointment with both of them. This is who she recommended and I drove over 2000 miles round trip to see them and am very glad I did. Each of them are about 11 hours from my home. Dr Vasey which is a Professor of Medicine/Rheumatology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, in Tampa, his phone number is (813) 974-2201. Dr Vasey is a co-author of "The Silicone Breast Implant Controversy." The book is out of print, but you can still get one by ordering it from his daughter's antique shop in Florida, her number is (813) 254-7149. Dr Weiss is a Neurologist in Palm Bay, Florida, his phone number is (321) 727-9063. His office is only a 3 hour drive from Dr Vasey's office, but on the other side of Florida. Dr Weiss is equipped to do his testing right there at his office. I was quite impressed. Dr Weiss was the most helpful for my condition. I had been having quite a lot of trouble with my balance and walking. I had actually fallen a couple of times in February. After asking a lot of questions and doing some basic test in his office, he said he wanted me to spend another night in Florida so I could have a MRI and some other tests done. They were able to work me in that same evening and early the next morning. The MRI showed that I had a small spot on my brain and the other tests showed that I have some nerve damage. Dr Weiss said he strongly suspects that I have silicone induced MS. He said that the spot on my brain looks different from the spots of people with regular MS. He said that if someone had ask him to look at my MRI pictures without telling him I had had breast implants, he would have said my spot was caused from silicone. He had seen others like mine and they all have had breast implants. Dr Weiss also thinks that a lump that I tried to have removed from my neck a couple of years ago was also silicone related. It had been there for years and then started to grow. I went to have it removed but some of it is still there. The surgeon said it looked like it was going into my lymph node. I am doing a lot better now than I was when I went to Cleveland Ohio in February to see Dr Lu-Feng, her phone number is (216) 831-7007. Dr Feng is a wonderful plastic surgeon that also recognizes the affects of silicone. She sent me for an ultra sound on my breast and found that I had silicone in my lymph nodes. I drove 9 hours to Cleveland the second time just so she could remove them. I very highly recommend the three Doctors that I have listed above. I want to also recommend a book "Toxic Relief" by Don Colbert, MD. It has a lot of information about what chemicals do to our bodies and how to get rid of them. He talks some about Greens+ which I have been buying and mixing with apple juice. I really believe it is making a huge difference in the way I feel and also walk. It is funny but Dr Weiss recommended that I use Juice+ which I have not been able to find, but believe it is probably the same type of thing but in a pill form. If any of you have silicone induced MS or know anything about it, I would be very interested in hearing from you. I want to know more. I also want to thank the very fine lady that lead me to these Doctors and all the other wonderful ladies that have helped me along the way. I sincerely hope this information will be as much help to some of you that are still looking for answers as it has been for me. I'm not well, but I am much better and hoping to improve even more. Your Friend & Silicone Sister Sally in NC
