I don't know if my situation is similar to yours but the surgical notes from my explantation read that tissue had grown thru the valve and into the implant eventually causing it to deflate. I was not allowed to examine my implants after surgery so I'm just going by what the report said. I was so ill that I was nearly bedridden before surgery-I have not been sick since they were removed 6 months ago.

I'm so glad to hear you are much better since explant! What type did you

have, were they removed en bloc?

warmest regards,

Rivkeh :)

Yes it is horrible. But, I do not think you can consent to the use of a

defective product. This is an issue of product liability due to a defective

product, maybe even negligent manufacture as they have failed to employ

adequate safety and quality controls; not informed consent but I definetly

know what you are saying. Maybe we just need to get more creative with the

legal theories we sue for. Just my take. I must admit I know very little

about product liability law, and I do know it is going to be difficult, and

yes, maybe impossbile, to find any justice in a court of law.

Can I ask you what, if anything you were daignosed with? All I get is that

basically I had an abcess in my chest. All my blood tests show nothing. I

still have bad headaches, and my ears pop. How odd. Dr. Blaise said the ear

popping is common among saline users- something to do with water uptake. I

am not exactly sure. I am really curoious about anyone's medical situation

who had these defective implants. Thanks for replying!!

e, thanks for the reply. How long did you have yours and what, if

anything were you diagnosed with? I have read several of your posts, but I

cant recall exactly to what degree you have recovered and over what period of

time. TX!

Absolutely!! Get them sent because of the potential legal ramifications, and

because it is even more important to have him tell you what, if anything,

they might be infected with so that you can get the right medicines tailored

to that end. Definetly send them!

Wow, same here. Blais termed the tissue " pannus tissue. " Was your recovery

that fast- it sounds like you immediately recovered. Did you have anything

show up on any tests, or did you just get better right away? By any chance

did you have headaches and ear popping? Thanks for your reply! Glad to hear

youre healthy again.

I was diagnosed with undifferentiated mixed connective tissue disease when I

had implants and when I lived in California. This was backed up positive ana

tests of my blood and the number of symptoms I had.

!8 months after explant I have been told that I do not have mctd but that I

do probably have some different things like maybe fibromyalgia, I don't

think so though, I mean most of my pain issues now are my feet and that has

been diagnosed as plantar fascitis. I think most of my implant illness is

gone, my labs are normal, I still get some funky flare ups and get colds

more often than normal I think, other than that I am doing good since

explant almost 2 years ago.

I don't know anyone who is willing to take on the implant manufacturers but

boy would I like to see them and yeah I would like retribution too for what

I endured due to the faulty products I was implanted with. I think 2 major

things work against us(well more than that) but mainly I think that other

than the papers we signed the fact that so many women claim they are fine or

that their health problems have nothing to do with implants, this hurts us

allot, if only more women with illnesses would see the obviousness of their

symptoms that would certainly help our cause. Too many are just willing to

put up with being ill to keep the fake breasts. It sucks.

well anyhow I hope you are feeling better and that you recover. I also had

Dr Blais tell me mine were defective and had stuff growing in them. Yuck

what type were yours? I spoke to Dr Blais a couple of nights ago and the

type he thinks I have had a defective valve which lets blood and body fluids

into the implant where the bacteria all grow. Gross isn't it?
