Guest guest
Thanks --you know, even if you don't already have health issues going on, why stress the immune system further. . .in this day and age it appears one is going to need all it's functions and then some. There are already previously undiscovered issues (like the acrylamide in certain cooked foods, or like the 1950s polio vaccine) and we know we are breathing things daily--who knows how much stress our bodies are already under, where each breaking point is or what result will be seen in the future? Chances are we are not going to have a big 'public announcement from the medical/chemical/pharmaceutical complex as it would destroy their patient base--but the application of common sense can go a long way. Our species was perfectly designed and we seem bent on seeing just how far that pefection can be pushed. Bonnie
Guest guest
Bonnie once again you come through with great information in words that I could not, thank you for your informative post, as always your extremely knowledgeable and wise. My opinion is if you already have health issues going on why put additional stress on your body with implants, which are in no way necessary! hugs ----- Original Message ----- From: Bos@... Sent: Sunday, September 01, 2002 7:17 PM Subject: Re: Questions for Dr. Kolb....... I'm not a doctor--but here is a situation to tuck away in your decision-making process. I knew an older (late 50s--early60s) woman who had both a pacemaker and an implant on the left due to a mastectomy. She died. Both the pacemaker and implant were infected due to bacteria and it could not be determined which started which. Bacteria adheres to a biomaterial such as silicone. (in all kinds of implants) How much and how long it takes to adhere is different for everyone; whether the bacteria causes an infection is different for everyone. Where the infection goes is not predictable. So it's all based on your willingness to take a chance. Is MPV that benign? I remember that a book was written by the daughter of an underground personality-- I think it was Gotte (sp?)-- who had MPV and she said there was a whole lot more to it than was recognized. Maybe a little investigation into this disorder will help you decide. My sister has MPV, and didn't know it until she was pregnant--it really manifested and became an issue in her next pregnancy. The fact that you are checking is excellent, in my opinion--best wishes with this decision. Bonnie.
Guest guest
Thanks e I knew that there were members of this group that had problems related to the heart from implants. ----- Original Message ----- From: e Rene Sent: Sunday, September 01, 2002 9:27 PM Subject: Re: Questions for Dr. Kolb....... I have heart problems, and my doctors now feel that implants caused them. I also suffered a stroke which was believed to be from free floating silicone that slipped through the hole in my heart (believed to have been caused by silicone) and traveled to my brain. Silicone attaches itself to major organs, and while you say you will get saline, the implant is still encased with silicone. If that silicone breaks down (and eventually it will), you do run the risk of developing worse heart problems. And take it from me---having gone through open heart surgery and now with a permanent ugly sternal scar, you don't want to have to go through the hell that I went through with my heart surgery and complications related to implants! e ----- Original Message ----- From: Heer Sent: Sunday, September 01, 2002 5:07 PM Subject: Re: Questions for Dr. Kolb....... I am not Dr Kolb but I can tell you that I know a girl who has had majorheart problems with implants , personally it seems really dangerous to riskthat kind of disease or problem that you have by getting implants, I amreally not sure why you would want to risk something like that but it is ofcourse a very personally thing. By the way do you realize that you would befacing many surgeries not just one, so in fact it would be risking yourheart to infection problems more than once, in fact many times. There is no test that can adequately tell you if implants will cause youproblems, it is a crap shoot.----- Original Message -----From: "singerlady_43" <singerlady_43@...>< >Sent: Sunday, September 01, 2002 4:44 PMSubject: Questions for Dr. Kolb.......> Dr. Kolb.,>> Is there any way of knowing before breat augumentation as to how your> body will react to the envelopes of Saline Implants before> implantation?
