Guest guest
Hi e, I am very grateful for your offer and assistance!!! It is very kind and generous of you!!! I posted and thanked you and OK'd you to e-mail Dr. Huang (below). I understood things as of yesterday that I was suppose to be waiting to hear back from you when you got word from her office. I am sorry if I misunderstood. I am going to try to e-mail you and see if it works. OK? I hope this works!!! Thank you. Warmly, J~ Please let me know if you get my e-mail at " your " address. It is really late here. I will try now and then again tomorrow Thanks. ---------- From: e Rene <e_Rene@...> < > Subject: Re: Fw: Question for you Date: Sunday, September 01, 2002 10:56 PM J, I will forward your email to Dr. Huang. Hang in there, and remember, where there's a will, there's a way! I would also listen to Bonnie's advice about having the groin area you mentioned biopsied. That can easily be done with a MAC (monitored anesthesia care, i.e., conscious sedation) and local. This will then let you know if the area is cancerous or not, and you can make some decisions based on the results of the bx. I will let you know when I hear from Dr. Huang. It can take her a few days to respond, but I'll keep on her. e ----- Original Message ----- From: JHH7 Sent: Sunday, September 01, 2002 3:25 PM Subject: Re: Fw: Question for you Thank you e for your ideas and comments. I am going to follow up with both your suggestions. I'll keep you posted. Yes. You can e-mail that. Please let me know what she says about the situation. Thanks. Warmly, J~ ---------- From: e Rene <e_Rene@...> < > Subject: Fw: Question for you Date: Saturday, August 31, 2002 7:24 PM J (and the rest of the group), I had emailed Dr. Huang and asked if she accepts medicare/medicaid. Here is her answer. And you can get medical treatment out of state if covered by medicare. Medicaid may be tricky, because each state funds that program. BUT, if your current doctor can get authorization for the explant, then you should be okay. You can't just take a verbal " okay " --get it in writing. There is a difference between " immediately " and " emergently. " As I stated in a previous email, emergent would constitute something that cannot safely wait for any period of time or else it may have detrimental affects on one's health. Immediately would indicate that as soon as possible, but waiting will not endanger your health to the degree that emergent would. There is a fine line between the 2 terms when it comes to medicine. No reputable doctor is going to lie to an insr provider. But doctors stretch the truth just a little everyday and they do this a) so that they know they will be paid; so the pt can have the procedure/surgery done; and c) so the pt doesn't have to pay out of pocket for, in come cases, something that is needed, or will eventually be needed. Case in point--my gyn stretched the truth a little about my tubal ligation. She told them that to become pregnant could possibly endanger my health, both physically and emotionally, and she was recommending that I have the tubal done at my request. Insr covered it 100%. Chances are that if I did become pregnant, my health wouldn't be endangered, but who knows? If my gyn had not worded it that way, insr would never have paid for the surgery. Doctors " word " requests for preauths for both theirs and the pts benefit all the time. So, J, let me know if I can forward your email from last night onto Dr. Huang, and see what we can do. Did you check out that website I gave you? www.modestneeds.org? It is a legitimate site, but he will require documentation (if you are selected for funding) that you are in need of the funds. This man has been written up in People magazine because of what he does. e ----- Original Message ----- From: Huang Sent: Saturday, August 31, 2002 6:17 AM e Rene Subject: RE: Question for you Dear e, We do have a skin care clinic in the office. Dariya is the aesthetician, and actually has a degree in literature from Cambridge! So you can discuss great books as well as skin care. The number is the same as my office. I do accept Medicare, and your friend should call Lorraine in the office, and she can help her schedule her explant. If she has documentation that they are ruptured, Medicare sometimes will cover the costs. Lorraine will be there on Tuesday.
