Would you kindly tell me if explant is ever performed on an emergency basis? I am in a terrible situation and in need of advise. My surgery was cancelled last Monday due to a secondary respitory infection. The surgeon (original implanting dr) is angry and does not want to reschedule me. I waited months for the apt. He was doing explant only and general surgeon was removing lymphs. The only other surgeon in my area, I trust says that my case has progressed too rapidly (I have old meme under muscle with extracapsular rupture and migration and lymph node involvement) and I am spilling at unusually rapid rate and that my surgery is "urgent" and "severe" and must be handled "immediately" and can not wait until she has availability - that it would be a "severe health risk". I am wondering if explant is ever so urgent that it needs to be done on an emergency basis? I am so sick and have no surgeon at this point and I do not know what to do. Can you please advise me? Thank you very much. J-
