RE: Layne emergency procedure QUESTION explant surgery on June 21

She is much less likely to qualify for charitable funds as she had full

insurance in New York. Out best bet is to find her a surgeon in the state

where she is covered. I have done many charitable explants and even gotten

the hospitals to cover OR and anesthesia fees but this will be very

difficult with her insurance situation. You have to prove you have no

resources to qualify for these charitable programs. .

I am not trying to put any pressure on you at all I just thought that

being a Dr you might at least be able to give us some ideas as to what we

could do to set up some kind of trust or something.

As I said below, in greater length..........

" my insurance covers explant, But try to find a dr. who is willing to

accept the insurance. "

Seems to be a catch ? I am a victim of the system!

It seems then, one is in a worse position when they have poor insurance vs

no insurance? Something is not right.

I want to thank the girls who are so kind in offering to help me!!!

I am still trying to learn what qualifies an emergent explant? My dr. is

willing to write the insurance co. and express the ergency? Otherwise,

how does one 'realistically' get explanted with poor insurance?

Thank you for your support! I hope to hear back.

Warmly,

J-
