Guest guest
I am in the Detroit area of Michigan. The owner of the the local health store where I go grows them in his backyard. Every fall he brings paw-paws into the store and hands them out for free because he has so many of them. They are kind of a custardy yellow and really quite delicious. This guy calls them a " Michigan banana " - they are shaped kind of like a short and fat banana. They also have some large, hard lima bean-shaped seeds inside that the fruit flesh kind of grows around. Do a search for pawpaws - found out a lot that way. Guest guest
American pawpaw herb - we use the bark of the tree. Australian pawpaw, usually known as papaya, we use the leaves as an anti-cancer brew up. Easy to get confused Dave wrote: I have seen adult Paw Paw bushes (almost a tree) on the other side of the river from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, so some of them do snow country ok. -Dave

Quite a different species to the Australian Paw Paw. The people that make the tablets called Cell-Reg use the bark but we boil up the leaves.
