Giddyup giddyup 409.... Remember that was a Jan and

Dean song. I had a Chevy Caprice 327. I think that was

the best car I ever had to this day. Of course gas was

only about 40-50cents a gallon. -dz-

Hi Jan

I guess some times I just assume people know I'm

talking about & should know better. Susy is always

getting on me about that.

Hi Diane

Your right about knowing know fear, I rember

driving my nova " Blue " & every time I got above 115

the front end came off the ground, I did that a lot. I

sat in the back seat of a friends car & we were doing

135. That was realy stupid.

Just got back from the Dr. and I still need a few more tests done.......

The heart scan came back OK....He said everything going to the heart

would show a problem. But I am thoroughly confused... I have the

hardening of the Stomach Aorta and I asked what they are going to do

about that if anything, or just ignore it.... He looked at the other cat

scan which was the reason I was sent to him and said oh!!!!! So how the

hell is everything going to the heart ok???? I didn't really get a

clear cut answer.....He said Oh no, we won't ignore it.... My

appointment was for 12:45 and I had to wait so long..... I just got back

at 4pm and it is only 15 minutes away.............. Well then he said it

may be the cervical disc disease, and back discs or the Reflex

Sympathetic Dystrophy, which can cause paralysis through out the

body.... Are we confused yet gang??????? All I know is nothing more than

when I went..... I am still here... ; ) That's all that matters to

me!!!!!!

boyfriends with nice cars!!!!! hee-hee..... They were the Good ole

days ;-)...... I would probably have a heart attack driving like that

today.... when we are young we have no fear. I still fear very little,

but I have common sense now!!!

I can't come close to you guys. My first was a 6 cyl DeSoto tank. I then

had 6 cyl Chevys until after the service. I remember one time I had a 52

Chevy that hardly ran and I drove to the junk yard and traded it + $25 for a

53 Ford wagon that hardly ran. (hell of a deal) I have had nothing but

trucks for the past 30 years (gotta have em to haul all that wood & hen

feed). I'm about to graduate from my 85 Chevy (which we changed engines 3

times) to my first 4x4 Chevy truck - as soon as my son welds the new rocker

panel in and we replace the windshield. Then I can be a real Redneck! I

remember a gas war when I was in high school where it was 25 cents/gal. -

good thing because I was running the DeSoto. Now if we talk about the

wife's wheels that's a different story. Never anything special though until

3 years ago when we got a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Hi Diane

Maybe you ought to suggest that your Dr. be tested for hepc. Sounds like he

might be suffering from a little brain fog.

Well, I guess you take the good news while you try to

wade through the rest. The aorta takes blood from the

heart to the body, so the flow into the heart may

still be ok. From what I've read it can lead to

increased blood pressure before the blockage and

decreased after it. It can cause the heart to work a

little harder and eventually will enlarge the left

ventricle of the heart. So maybe that's what they were

looking for. At least it seems that this hasn't

occurred. Hopefully the rest of the news is all good

too. We will continue to pray for you. -dz-

I had a 53 Chevy that I paid $75. for in the late 60's...... It was

like driving a tank.... Had to have muscles to turn the wheel..... If

you were hit in that thing, it wouldn't even have a dent.... Now those

cars were built to last!!!!! Remember the Corvairs?????? Had one of them

too...

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!! Have a Super Sunday..... Terry I saw

advertisements about Nascar on TV..... I think it starts Feb.. 24th.....

My daughter loves to watch the races... I am not into them but I may

watch and get caught up in it! ;o Hi Susy!!!!!!

I had to admit, after fielding a couple of losers, I

he could, better than my old pcp that I got rid of.

Thank you for the explanation of my heart test..... Now how hard

would that have been for the dr. to tell me?????

That is probably what they were looking for. I still have to have a

echocardiogram (Ultrasound of the Heart) and a veinous Doppler for the

clots in my leg..... he thinks they are superficial, but wants to make

sure!!!!

Thank you Dr. Dave... ;o

Hi Dennis

When I was in the 7th grade my dad owned a gas station. I remember gas

prices at 16 cents a gallon, sometimes as low as 10 cents when there was a

gas war on.

I always thought I wanted a 4x4 until I started driving one at work. It's to

high off of the ground for my short little legs, uses a lot of gas, and is

one of the roughest rides I have ever had. At least I only have to use it

after a big rain when the wellfield is muddy. It is kind of fun though.

Hi Diane

My mother had to have all of her arteries from the heart down into her legs

many years ago. Surgery took somewhere around 16 hours to complete. The

blockage in hers was so bad that her toes were starting to turn black from

lack of blood flow.

I hope that all turns out well for you. I'll be sure and say a prayer for

you now.

Either they think that we're not smart enough to

understand it, or they don't want to take the time to

explain it to us. I suspect it's a combination of the

two. I know my former PCP, whom I got rid of when he

refused to " humor " my suspicion that I had hcv, always

overbooked his appointments and I sat in the office,

the nurse came in and did her thing, the dr whisked in

and out, not spending 5 minutes to talk to me. My

current dr is a little more understanding in these

things. -dz-

Well, I know you're older than I am now! I bought gas

in Texas at 19 cents. That was the least I ever paid.

I think it got down to 23 or 24 in Wisconsin at times.

Of course, I never really paid attention to the price

of gas until I was old enough to drive. I remember

pooling all our money together and scraping up $.59

for gas and driving around all night on it. :)

OK, then liverdude it is. He also treats me for my

hiatal hernia/acid reflux, although so far that has

only amounted to popping a prevacid every day. He

scoped me at the same time he was doing the liver

biopsy. I told him that my pcp had prescribed some for

me, but it didn't seem to do anything so I quit taking

it (it was expensive). After the scope he told me to

take it EVERY day or I would be coming in next to see

him for surgery. He convinced me. Good luck on your

enzyme numbers. -dz-

My father had an aneurism (sp?), on his aorta. He got

to the VA on time and they replaced a portion of his

aorta with plastic. The operation went very well and

as far as I know he never suffered from this anymore.

It seems there is quite a lot they can do for you.
