In my opinion, one glass of wine will always be out of

the question. Just because your viral load is

undetectable, you are not cured. The virus is not

attacking your body at that time but it is lurking in

your body. Anything that may weaken the system could

stir it up and personally I've had enough liver

damage. That is just my opinion and I was a moderate

drinker before my diagnosis. With all these teens in

my house, there are many times I would like just a

glass of wine to relax, but I don't really think it's

worth it.

Alcohol is not recommended on or off treatment with hcv. I don't suppose a glass of wine would hurt anymore on the treatment than off of it. Be sure to check your other meds for possible problems with the use of alcohol. I have read articles which didn't expressly forbid alcohol use if it was very little. My dr forbade it. With me it's not an option anyway, as there is no such thing as one glass of wine in my vocabulary. One drink is too much and a thousand is not enough. Be careful. -dz-

The flip side of this is also how many did we give it

to. I grew up in a rural area and there were at least a

few hundred of us sharing needles in some manner over a

year or two period.

Hi Debbie

It all depends on how much damage the hepc has done to your liver. Treatment will only cure the hepc it will not correct any damage that the hepc has done to your liver.

Jan --I gotta agree with on that note GO NOW to ER

it's better to nip it in the bud' than have it turn into a bacterial infection

-- that's what happened to me last year I ended up in hospital twice

last year for a TOTAL of 18 days8888An you can take my word on this "IT"S

NOT GREAT!! to get these bacterial infection--the last time I was in hospital

I ended up with a blood infection(bacterial) & had to have a test run

on me to eliminate the possibility that it'd gooten into my heart chambers...this

can happen very easily & there are no symptoms of when your heart gets

an infection of this type...... It just wipes you out really quick &

there isn't even any kind or way to diagnose--except for the special testing

I had done before they would release me..had to see a surgeon who specializes

in 'rare' blood diseases.

So my Friend & Queenie from Cajun land Please do yourself

& all of us too & get this matter straightened out OK!!!!!!!????????

Jan you listen to me.... you go and you go

If you go maybe they can just do an IV antibiotic and let you go home.

You fool with it you might be in the hospital for days on end.

I just

got off the phone with the hosp and they said for me to go into the er

ASAP..I have another infection..I'm not going until my temp reachs 100

Ok today is mOnday and I HAVE NO TEMP!!! Whoo Hoo..Maybe I am on my way to recovery finally!! For some reason though I am extremely sore in the ole belly..VERY tender..Hey as long as the temp is gone that's great to me...I do want to thank all of you for caring..I did have a bacterial infection Arlene when I had to go back in the last time and no they aren't any fun at all..I was in for 4 days that time..I don't want to go back in now..I have a return appt on the 17th..As long as I can hold on till then I think I'll be ok..Just say a prayer and keep me in your thoughts..Mostly I just get so tired so fast..Faster than normal but the Hep isn't helping me out with a quick recovery that's for sure and of course the pain I DON'T have on my right side doesn't help either...

Are most of you in this group type 1a or 1b...I feel strange as I have

quite a different form--type 3a-- & it's not supposed to be prevalent

in the USA!! I've always been a little strange I guess!! Somehow

I seem to like being defferent in most matters!!!

Ken is always telling that I Arlenize everything you know kinda

like when I get someone's recipe or something like that---I tend to change

it somewhat!! But so in over 19 yrs Ken seems to like the way I change

things<g> So I guess it's OK to be little different(?)!!!!!!

I know what you mean. They weren't easily available here, so we would use one until it was so blunt you could hardly break the skin with it. Sorry if that's offensive to anybody, but that's the way we were when we wanted a high... -dz-

Thanks Jan, it's nice to be here. It was a tough

weekend with the sides, but I don't listen to my own

advice and tend to overdo it. We always pay for that.
