Guest guest
Hi again-- You were a very smart woman to decide against getting implants and preserving your health! I am sorry to hear that this situation regarding implants exists in Hong Kong. It is unfortunate that the doctors there have not studied the research regarding silicone implants in the body. Augmenting the breasts with silicone injections originated in Japan, if I am not mistaken, so the Japanese were the first to become aware of the dangers of using silicone in the body. I am very surprised that it is not treated more seriously there. I hope your friends health gets better, too, and I hope you will be able to direct her doctors attention to the fact that some serious concerns are valid and to be addressed regarding saline breast implants. Take care, Patty ----- Original Message ----- From: partyangie Sent: Monday, September 23, 2002 7:29 AM Subject: Re: My Best Friend Thank you very much for your reply Martha, i do think it is a possibility that her illness is related to the implants as well; I almost got implants myself few years ago, but after searching information on the web and seeing some web sites and reading some forums similar to this one; i gave up the idea. Will talk to her about this test she should do, but i much doubt she would listen, as she is completely sure the implants have nothing to do with her health problems.Does not help much that we live in Hong Kong, where plastic surgery is not as popular and advance as it is in USA, and nobody here really knows about the problems related to implants.Dr. didn`t even tell her about the capsular contracture possibility; she learn about it few months ago talking with me; she was told there is a very easy surgery with no complications. We ask the doctor who treated her in the hospital the other day if the implants may be affecting her health, but he said it was not possible at all.Anyway, i just hope her health get better.Thank you very much for your kind interest.A.A.> YES, it's quite definitely a possibility her illness is related to her> breast implants. Guest guest
It is great that you care so much about your friend and that you have put together the coincidences that so many people miss, in that her declining health can be related to her implants. I would say that it is good to rule out other things, but when and if other things are ruled out, and there is no answer to be found the fact is that it is possibly the implants. It is sad but often times no one will listen or even try to look at the fact that implants do cause health problems. Many times people will say that it is a coincidence but to me if someone is perfectly health and young, then suddenly after getting implants begins having all these problems, it is pretty hard not to consider them a factor. I know for me it was so obvious but the Dr's didn't want to even consider the implants as being a cause. I finally had to just take matters into my own hands and find someone who did believe in illness from implants and get them out before I got any sicker. It may be harder to find someone in your country to do this. I am so sorry for your friends suffering. I also know that in the beginning I refused to believe it was my implants either but, as time went by I became much more open to that possibility . I am sure that if your friend does not find improvements in her health soon, she too will open her mind to the other possibilities as well. Keep her informed of this site, so that if she needs to and when she is ready to, she can find out more information.
