Guest guest
I guess if I had that kind of belly fat I would want it removed also. . .it appears that the pubic area was pulled up, which makes sense-- but one would want to assess this and also find out just how high it's going to be lifted--this one looks pretty high, but maybe it used to be and is just fine with her. It seems that a true tummy-tuck pulls the stomach muscles up and removes excess skin, like a facelift. What is a mini-lift? Bonnie
Guest guest
Thanks--would suppose if stomach muscles are taut, one could just have the extra skin/fat removed. . . I couldn't bear having my navel relocated. . .I have this thing about it--part of a personal philosophy LOL I remember that a surgeon told me of this when discussing a TRAM flap and it bothered me the most. I wonder if they can remove just skin/fat without such extensive incisions/scars as the woman in this pic seems to have. . .it probably depends on the patient's body as so many things do. Guest guest
A mini tummy tuck is where they don't relocate the belly button, this is probably what I would need. I have a nice stomach around the belly button, it is lower abdomen that is stretch marked and loose skin, I have done as much as I can with it to this point with exercise, so what is left is all skin. I don't think I need to have the full tuck done, but I am consulting with a surgeon here in Idaho to get some feedback on what he thinks. I have a good feeling for him, he does lots of tummy tucks, and other procedures where I work, he is highly recommended. Not sure I will use him, but I thought it would be good to talk to him about it. Feng would be my first choice, I missed s call yesterday cause I had to work 12 hours, so I am hoping to hear from her tomorrow about Fengs cost, I am sure it will be allot, she does not come cheap. My husbands sister lives in Ohio though, so it would be cool to stay there a few days, or week or whatever. I think that I am a good candidate for this, I mean surgically I always came through well. I never had a complication infection, or even nausea from the anesthesia. My only problem was with the implants themselves. Even my 6 hour explant was free of complications and I was back at work in one week. Yeah it is like a facelift for the tummy, and to be honest I don't have anything against plastic surgery, I just don't like implants, how can I after the pain they caused me. Guest guest
-- I agree with your present philosophy to a point. . .a tummy tuck doesn't introduce a foreign body though . .but it does carry the risk of infection and scars are a given. There are new procedures coming out all the time--why not just wait a few years and see what materializes. I know that at your age you think you won't care as much about your tummy or looks when you are 50, or 60--but the fact is, I think you care even more (as aging does have quite an effect on the skin) . .particularly as we women have assumed quite a different place in society at an older age than we thought we would. We definitely don't feel "old at 60 and I was really impressed to see a picture of Gloria Steinem (I'm an admirer of hers) at age 68. . .she's now become a role model for me in looks also. Guest guest
From what I know Bonnie I would be a perfect candidate for a mini tuck which is about half the work and half the $$$ and recover is easier though still a bitch. It is mainly if you have the skin and stretch marks below the navel, yes they can tighten it up and the muscles underneath without moving the navel, I won't do a full tuck and in all reality after having an anxiety attack this morning I am not sure I will even do the mini tuck. I woke up and thought to myself what am I thinking of? Man you know your health has returned when you start thinking of more plastic surgery LOL not sure what I am doing at this point honestly! ----- Original Message ----- From: Bos@...
