Yes, but it can be hard on the stomach and usually is not used alone. I recommend a herbal combination. Please see the new silicone immune protocol for herbal recommendations at www.plastikos.com as well as an interesting suppository called Pleo Alb which is a homeopathic medicine. .

Dr. Kolb,

Is caprylic acid effective for getting rid of yeast? I ask for the benefit of those who can't seem to get a prescription for nystatin or diflucan (which is sooooooo expensive). At least caprylic acid can be purchased at the health food store. Would it just be a matter of taking it long enough, or in large enough quantity?

Very interesting Patty, I think I will try this stuff in 3600 dosage for 3 weks, and see how I feel.

Oh, and Dr Kolb, I am still wondering if you have are familar with ant type of hormonal upset with estrogen dominance or heightened levels of it with implants? Are the two connected? I know I am kinda young for "estrogen dominance" , and Dr Mercola is interested if you have seen this before with implanted patients. Thanks alot!

The results were a 30% to 90% reduction in Candida levels among those with the 1,800 mg dosage; a 70% to 100% reduction in the three patients taking 2,700 mg, and complete elimination of Candida in two weeks in all of those taking 3,600 mg. > >Dr. Susser agrees with the use of caprylic acid, but cautions that it is far from a panacea.
