Guest guest
The biggest problem I have is with practitioners who portray themselves as strictly alternative when they should be using the term complementary or something like that. I've had friends who have seen alternative therapists and think they are getting vitamin c, laetrile, etc when in fact there has been some chemo slipped in the I.V. This to me is unscrupulous as a patient who does not know they are getting chemo or finds out and doesn't want it, may stop the therapy before all the cancer cells are killed. Then they have the added problem of dealing with the strong cancer cells that made it through the low dose chemo. In Max Factor's son's case the treatment was effective, but people who see the Oasis advertising may think that he was cured strictly by alternative means. Most patients take advertising at face value and don't know enough to ask the right questions. I just happened to be speaking with Dr. Andrade who makes no bones about the fact that he is an oncologist and uses chemo, albeit in innovative ways. Having toured the Mexican clinics over the last four years I'm seeing a trend towards full dose chemo. Now, Oasis is essentially giving the same treatment that's available in the U.S. Although they are giving alternative therapies in addition to the full dose chemo, it's a long way from where they started. Renate From: JCastron It is written: " At Hope For Cancer clinic Dr. Andrade who works there told me that he did the protocol for Max Factor's son with 2,000 mg of 5FU directly into the liver " I suppose that 5FU coursing through our entire system would be more toxic than a direct injection into the liver but then again I have no medical or other license hanging on my wall. I do recall, however, Ralph Moss complaining about what he believe to be 'cold' oncologists at Sloan Kettering saying, when speaking about 5FU, calling it, 'Five Feet Under'. Regardless, we are slowly hearing/learning that Alternative practitioners and those calling themselves, 'Integrative', are using certain of the chemotherapy drugs. We know that do it with IPT and now I have heard of Tamoxifen as well as 5FU being used. Live and learn.
