Guest guest
Does anyone know anything about adrenal insufficiency? The chiropractor who is helping us with the hair tests said that my daughter's test indicated adrenal insufficiency (very high copper, low sodium and potassium, very low chromium). She is supplementing with Thorne Adrenal Cortex, which is bovine adrenal extract. Is this safe? Mercury does affect adrenal function and this is common. Thorne extract is commonly given in this situation, but I haven't specifically researched its safety. Bernie ps mercury and toxic metals affect most hormone glands(adrenal, pituitary, hypothallamous, thyroid, parathyroid, etc.) they are interactive and its hard to tell which one is responsible for given problems, you can test specific gravity of urine to see if < 1.02 means a problem with adrenal-hypothallamous-pituitary systems, may be all or one. Huggins says pituitary gland extract often helps if symptoms are serious depression, etc. Adrenal tends to make you tired, stressed, frazzled, etc.

Guest guest
Can adrenal insufficiency affect the oxygen levels in the brain. I was told my son might have this. Hyperventalative problems too, but see my last post on that from the williss list. Kathy [ ] re: adrenal insufficiency > > >Does anyone know anything about adrenal insufficiency? Guest guest
Marie, What tests did your doc do to give you this diagnosis? I have heard of this condition--it is not to be taken lightly-- and have looked into it before myself. I had my cortisol output checked by my naturopath in Tucson, and the tests showed I had a cortisol output drop in late afternoon. He put me on Isocort, (here's one website: http://www.bhnbiz.com/products/isocort.html) but when I moved to Vegas, I stopped taking it and haven't done much else, but look at mostly alternative/natural means of strengthening the adrenals. Maybe I should have it checked again. Please let me know what he has recommended for you since this diagnosis, and how he arrived at it. Guest guest
Hi Patty: I had serum and urine cortisol tests. Take care, LM
Guest guest
Patty: Her recommendations will be given to me after other tests come back. I go back to see her in two weeks. LM
Guest guest
I would think that www.merck.com could give you a general idea of it and www.mercola.com probably has suggestions for treatment so you know what your doctor is talking about when she fills you in on the particulars.
