If anyone gets a virus it will be from someone mailing privately. DON'T open .exe attachments. An attachment is not the same as an email. It has a little blue thing you have to click on to make it open (most programs - I suppose some are different). Keep your virus protection updated. The recent discussion was about a HOAX, not a real virus, but there are always bad ones out there. Neither Bill nor I had a virus. We were talking about one that didn't exist. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted lately but my hands get achy when I type too much. I just wanted to give you a heads up about a virus in one of the posts. Good thing I upgraded my antivirus software 2 days ago. I will post later. Guest guest
Norton Antivirus finds virus in my email every day! My Norton firewall blocks internet worms and virus etc. (not to mention malicious hackers). I personally recommend Norton Internet Security. Macfee has similar products that may work just as well. There are also other antivirus and firewalls out there, some of which are free. Be careful, you get what you pay for. I received an email today that claimed to be from Symantec(Norton) with an emergency update. It was a virus! There recently was a similar one claiming to be from Microsoft. No legitimate company sends out updates via email! ----- Original Message ----- From: Kathy Penrose Cc: Hi everyone Sent: Sunday, April 04, 2004 1:20 PM Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Virus I found a virus some one sent me. It is called DOWNLOAD.TROJAN or wast.exe do a search on it to see if you can find it. I was having a lot of virus e-mails sent to me because of this bug. Hope no one is infected.
