Does anyone experience hip pain when sitting or laying in bed? I have

been experiencing a hot, burning pain in my left hip going on down

into my knee. I went to the Dr. and she gave me Neurotin saying she

thinks it is a nerve problem. It still hurts after 2 weeks on the

medicine. I have been taking up to 6 MSM tablets a day also. I do

still have saline implants in, the 3rd set!! due to ruptures, the

first being silicone. I am in the process of setting up surgery to

get these out before the end of the year and NO MORE!!! I would

appreciate hearing from anyone who may be or has had this problem.

The Dr. thinks I am crazy when I blame my aches and pains on the

implants. Thanks, PJ

Hi PJ, I do not experience such pain but I do have some other aches.

that has to be annoying the doctors thinking you are crazy and all.

I have yet to see a dr for my ailment because I fear the ridicule.

Glad you decided to get those things out if they are causing you

discomfort and pain. I still have my implants as well and hoping to

get them out soon. No doctor should think you are crazy. The doctor

should listen and be open to all possibilities not just give you a

pill and send you on your way. If the dr thinks your implants are

making you ill, you are more than likely to be able to get your

explant covered by your insurance, but I could be wrong. Do you have

any other symptoms? Ari

Many of my patients have similar symptoms. I would recommend lipoic acid

2000 mg a day. See the information on this at www.plastikos.com. .

Hi PJ,

Yes, I have had a very similar problem beginning nearly 10-years ago ---

now, it goes from my head to my foot on the left side. It also now effects

my left arm & las 2 fingers of my left hand, etc. I have had 'Nerve

Conduction Studies' done by 4 different neurologists since this problem

became constant. The last 3 have given a very definite Dx of demyleniation

of the nerves, which was initially " labeled " as periferal neuropathy; and

now is labeled as possible MS, etc.

Neurontin is one of those pain medications that 'normally' works very well

for this kind of pain. However, you have to take it as prescribed for at

least 6-weeks before it finally " kicks in " ! Many doctors 'neglect' to tell

their patients such information, or they simply do not know that part of the

'deal' because they have not bothered to read all the 'disclosures' for the

drug!

Please stay in touch!

Interesting that you mention hip pain actually since that was one of my very

first symptoms. I no longer have the hip pain so I do attribute it to the

implants and having them removed to getting rid of it, though at the time I

was doing allot of running and kickboxing that may have also added to my

troubles.

I highly recomend the implants need to go and that with diet and some

exercise and supplements if needed you can get better, it can take awhile

though, and you need to be able to talk to a Dr about helping you with pain

control in the meantime. Dont be afraid to take something for pain if you

need it.
