Guest guest
Dear Deb: Sorry to hear of your dilemma. That really sucks. I too still have shooting pains in my breast from a mastopexy done in May. What a shame about your PS. I'd sue his ass too if he left those capsules in after telling you they were removed. Unfortunately, it's hard to find a good PS amongst the lies, trickery and deceit that comes with this profession (esp. surrounding the implant issue). Who will you go to know to get it done "right"? I hope whoever you choose will do right by you this time around. I know what it's like getting screwed by your trusted PS. It's an awful feeling and you feel alone too. You don't have to be alone in this...we're here. -Marie
Guest guest
I would recommed an MRI at this point. Were cultures taken at surgery? What exactly did the path report say? . -----Original Message----- From: Deb [mailto:wwjddeb_99@...] Sent: Tuesday, October 15, 2002 1:14 PM Subject: Continued pains after explantation Hello to all, I have been quite busy at work and only get on line about once a week if I'm blessed with a few minutes. I had my implants removed on 6/6/02 and I do feel a lot better than I have for the last 21 years! I do however continue to have sharp shooting pains in my breasts, with very painful lumps small to large since surgery. These lumps have traveled under my arms where the sides of my bra's go all the way to just about my back. I was shocked, hurt and horrified when I found out that my surgeon DID NOT REMOVE THE CAPSULES! I don't know if this is the source of my pain and lumps and bumps as maybe new capsules are now forming and creating a new found hell within me... or if this is a normal part of the healing process??? I had a couple of neuro flair ups shortly after my explant surgery, and a few times my tounge has gone numb like it fell asleep for a brief while maybe 3 to 5 minutes... then it went back to normal. I have had some visual symptoms blurred vision and double vision a couple of times but not like I use to get! Also a few days of migraines again not like I use to get. I get dizzy at times, last night when I went to bed I felt like the room was spinning only to wake up this morning to feel normal again... whatever normal is. I go in for a mamogram on the 30th the hospital where I work gives free mamo's once a year for the women who work there. It will be interesting to see how it goes. I got my implants back from Dr. Blais of course to see the black crap growing inside of them I am really glad to know that they are out of my body and nothing was replaced! I may have been miss informed the first time... a second time would have been an ignorant choice on my part. I will be sending photo's of my enstien breasts along with photo's of the blackened implants, and the tissues in a jar that clearly shows there are no capsules. Ladies beware of what you believe your surgeons are saying... mine told me that he would remove the implants and the capsules... and he lied to me. My surgical report says that the capsules were thick and that he removed the anterior portion of the capsules... yet the path reports all say that there is NO CAPSULES... Now I am faced with yet another surgery to remove the capsules that he cut up and left inside of me!... I am not a happy camper about this... I choose not to remain angry but to place my anger to good use and hold this surgeon accountable for his actions to my insurance company he should answer, as well as to an attorney so that he can repay me for the damages and lost wages and surgery that I will need to remove these capsules. One day at a time, on breath at a time and one bra at a time... bra's hurt to wear... Does anyone have a brand of bra that does not hurt your breasts after surgery? If so please clue me in. As well if any of you are or had painful lumps and bumps after surgery what did you do to get rid of them? More surgery? What? Thanks, Deb
