Guest guest
Patty, I agree with Dr. Kolb that you should have the tests repeated. If I remember correctly, the last test was Feb 2001. If that is the case, then you should have a repeat draw done. A C3 deficiency is usually a result of an autoimmune illness, but does not confirm this. It involves much more to confirm a dx of anything autoimmune, and a dx cannot be based on a single C3 deficiency alone. I do know that associated clinical conditions with C3 deficiencies are recurrent pyogenic infections and glomerulonephritis (kidney problems). e

Guest guest
Hi Patty, I'm not e! However, pyrogenic infections are of the gums, which can destroy the bones that hold your teeth properly. I'm certain e will provide a more indepth explanation..... yet, it's a matter of keeping your gums healthy! Guest guest
Thanks Martha, I am not sure this is the same thing as I mentioned. When I looked up Pyogenic infections (not pyrogenic) it came up with different descriptions than you gave, and in fact one made a reference to pyogenic infections as pus forming bacteria. So, anyway, I am still looking for info on this and will make another appointment soon to have this C3 Complement rechecked.
