-Marie, I think I did find your message after I reinstalled my MSN software. Suprisingly, my acct was still intact, current, and active, hence the reason I'm keeping this msn email. I think you had asked how to order or obtain a copy of "Questionable Doctors" put out by Public Citizen. If that's what you asked, you can call them toll free at 877-747-1616. The books are put out according to region, and list several states in each. I believe they run around $25+ per book. You can also get a newsletter/membership subscription, and various topics are offered, including "Best Pills, Worst Pills News", or a combination membership w/ health letter, or a basic membership. These range in price from $10-40. I believe the website is www.citizen.org. The book w/ Questionable Doctors is great. I know so many docs in Denver who have been disciplined for various reasons (most common being substance abuse) and I never knew it. I have worked with these docs, talked to them, helped them, and respected them, and then saw that they have been disciplined; in some cases, not just once, but 2-4 times!!!! It's a real eye opener! I dated an anesthesiologist 2 yrs ago, and he enlightened me to all the anesthesiologists who are "using." Of course anesthesiologists have one of the highest substance abuse rates because of their frequent and easy access to controlled substances. But I had no idea. Doctors that I worked with everyday in PACU were using; and one had transferred to the trauma hospital I worked at from Vail Valley Medical Center, because they were on to him, and he came to Denver, they never did a check on his license, and he was using cocaine. Since 2000, he's been disciplined 4 times. We had so many probs w/ his pts, too, because they would come out sooooo sedated, and barely breathing, and half the time not on oxygen, and more than half of his pts had to be reintubated in the PACU. From what I heard, one of the nurses exposed him. Anyway, if you can get a book, do it because it really is helpful, and when you're looking for a new doc, ALWAYS look up that doc. AND check with the Board of Medicine to see if there's been any discipline on record. e
