Guest guest
Hi , I hope you read this post...I just about dropped dead when I read all your posts about your foot pain!!! It was like reading MY STORY!!! I got explanted in September. My first 'symptom' 17 months ago started in my feet and ankles!!! Immediately after explant the pain was gone. Now just two days ago...it started up again! I had a month and a half of no pain..and then bam..here it is again. I called Dr. Kolb and she wasn't at all surprised. She said when you are so full of infection it could take a long time for that to go away. I was off my antibiotics for only a week when the pain came back. So now I am back on Cipro and antifungal drug as well..and they are already better! Dr. Blais out of Canada also told me that this could hang on for up to 36 months, but he was certain that with antibiotics it would eventually be cleared out of my system and I would be rid of it. Believe me...I KNOW HOW BAD YOUR FEET HURT!!! I thought I was going to be in a wheel chair. I'm serious...it got that bad! Write and tell me where your pain is...I'd love to hear from you!!! Thanks!! Guest guest
I have talked to Dr Blias too but he never mentioned that this foot thing was implant related. I know that it could be, my feeling though is that I have taken too many rounds of antibiotics and they never helped, so I just dont want to go there again, it was not worth it to me. I was too sick from the meds, that was awful, and I don't have anyo ther things wrong with me other than the stupid feet thing. Ok, my pain is right on the heel and the underneathe of the arch. It can range in severity from being almost disabling to being almost non existent. It can really be hard to get around or to work out or anything, it sucks! WHat kind of foot pain did you have? Are you active? what kind of meds are you on? Thanks for writting hugs C ----- Original Message ----- From: " jean_puppe " <jpuppe@...> < > Sent: Tuesday, November 05, 2002 11:02 PM Subject: !!?? Guest guest
PS yes the wheelchair thing, it can be that bad, I totally know what you mean. Mine is not that bad right now, it is mostly fear of it getting back to that, that is how it was about 2 months ago when I was so desperate I got the steroid shot, man that was desperate, I could not have gone anywhere the way I was. We tried to go to the fair and I had to sit down every ten minutes. When we went on a trip to Reno I got so bad, I didn't know that I could make it through the airport, and that was on pain meds it was so bad. IT SUCKED. Anyhow I am trying to stretch, ice, rest it as much as possible, those are the things that work the best for me now. Guest guest
I'll try this again...my posts are not showing up and I don't know why! Thanks for responding back! I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. I also was at a street fair, and I seriously didn't think I was going to be able to walk back to the car. That's when I KNEW something serious was wrong. In fact, that is what led me to start doing some research on my own...and that's when I found the implants to be the problems for all my issues. Every join in my body hurt acatually..but my feet hurt the worst. The bottoms of my feet..and up to my ankles too...just really stiff, painful, and sometimes really swollen too. It all disappeared immediately following explant surgery...but just came back a week ago...but now has subsided again when I started the Cipro and Sporanox. I just hope it eventually goes away completely. I know complaining about feet hurting seems so lame especially when other women are hurting so much worse from these damn implants. But it is really hard to explain to someone who hasn't had pain in their feet! It is so awful isn't it?!!!! Keep me posted....thanks! > > PS > > > > yes the wheelchair thing, it can be that bad, I totally know what > you mean. > > Mine is not that bad right now, it is mostly fear of it getting > back to > > that, that is how it was about 2 months ago when I was so > desperate I got > > the steroid shot, man that was desperate, I could not have gone > anywhere the > > way I was.
