Guest guest
Hi and ALL: I got implants in 1198 because I developed ptosis after weight loss. I had my implants for a short period of time and was explanted because they looked awful (like beach balls) and were EXTREMELY uncomfortable. My PS was pissed off because I had requested he take them out (less than a month), so he agree to explant me and did so in the most horrific way. My current PS feels what my implanting/explanting surgeon did to me was "an atrocity." He has never seen a breast surgery result worse than mine--ever. Since my explantation, I have gone through 2 corrective surgeries. I'm soon to be up for number three. If I add up how much money (out of pocket mind you--no insurance involved), thus far the price far exceeds 30,000--and counting) that does not include income lost as I had to take leave from my position as a Social Worker in land and my departure from law school. Also, I lost about 50% of my hair too. The loss of hair and my scars are far more of an issue to me than any amount of money. I pray my next surgery allows me to pass for "normal" and my hair grows back in following my many bouts with telogen effluvium. Back in Sept. in a rather snotty tone a "friend" told me (e and knows who she is) , "at least you have money to have surgery" yeah, that's true but big fucking deal, I'm mammed for life. -Marie
Guest guest
Thanks Marie. I appreciate you telling us all so that many women will see that it is not just sickness that makes people explant, there are tons of reasons, now maybe Keli will put her story in too. I mean I truly feel for you, for as much as I often wish I had more breast tissue, the fact is at least I never ended up mamed like you did, and that is the best news for me at least, but for you, I just have faith that this 3rd and last surgery is going to get you to that place where you will finally feel good about things I am pulling for you and praying for you. Some of us are so lucky and then some of us don't even appreciate that fact, hell I may be small but who gives a dam, at least I cannot see my scars. Gives some women on this group somthing else to think of I should say! hugs C ----- Original Message ----- From: perlesetlacet@...
