Guest guest
Boy can I relate to this. Angi [ ] Halloween Last year on Halloween, Halley (apraxic), would not go up to the doors, and could not say " trick or treat " . We had our neighbor's little girl with us, who ended up collecting candy for her. This year, we practiced saying trick or treat and knocking on doors, we went with about 6-8 other children, and she felt much more comfortable in a group. By the time Halley got up to the door, everyone had already said trick or treat, and she did not have to. On a few occasions, the people at the houses tried to make her say it. One lady stood there and waited, and just looked at Halley, and asked her to say it again. It broke my heart, yet I was not about to say anything to the people, because I did not want Halley to feel more uncomfortable. The general public has no idea, and " assumes " she can talk. She had a great time anyway, so I am glad. Last year I would tell them she was still working on talking, but this year I decided to say nothing. So it is a hard situation, as you all must know. Guest guest
Hi All: How was your Halloween? Mine was boring, I just stayed home and passed out candy to kids. I made them happy this year giving them regular sized Hershey and Mars bars. None for me! lol. LM
