FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- A Deerfield Beach woman charged with performing illegal plastic surgery appeared in a Fort Lauderdale bond court today. Christiane Raffo's bond was set at $2,000. Sources told Channel 10 News reporter D'Oench that Florida Health Department officials have had Raffo (pictured) under surveillance for quite some time and been after her for more than a year. Raffo allegedly had many customers, performed plastic surgery and administered botox treatment. She is said to have advertised heavily in Brazilian magazines. She is charged with practicing medicine without a license and possession of a controlled substance. The alleged offenses carry a maximum sentence of five years in prison and $5,000 in fines. Investigators moved in on Raffo after numerous complaints were made about the Deerfield office where she allegedly worked.
