Yes I sure have talked and talked- I have been very proud of myself at times but its still not enough. They pretty much understand what has happened which only makes matters worse. I myself have had to cope with the helplessness and victimization and anger which has been extremely hard for me too. I have done everything I know to help them but they have had to change too many things .. went from great big house -only home they knew - in the suburbs of a big city to tiny trailer in the sticks, in a totally different culture. Mom and Dad both had good jobs, now reduced to the food stamp line.

We lost everything we have worked for our entire lives and have been forced to start over.

I have tried to show them all of the positives - and there are many - but they cannot see. They just want to go home.

Have you talked to your kids?? I know this sounds corny, but kids are alot smarter now than we were at their age.... Explain to them what all has happened... And if any want someone to talk to I'm sure myself, Don, or probably some others would love to chat with them... if they feel they can't talk to "MOM"... I remember those ages..

Do you have any herbs at all on hand?

I looked at the website and it looks like you have been thru a nightmare! The kids obvisouly have a lot of adjustment time... healing takes time... patience...prayer... remember the battle is not against flesh and blood.....

Kat, I see that you have a 15yod... i have a 16yod and ... in the past we lost our home.. had to evacuate in the middle of the night and couldn't go back, they lost their home, health, friends, personal possessions... all of it... if your daughter would like to talk, i'm sure mine would talk with her...

also .. i would like to know what you want to grow.. i have quite a few extra seeds from this year's and last year's garden that i could give you (mostly vegies).. i might need help with postage (dh is laid off so we have no income right now) but other than that... just let me know what you can or want to grow. For instance, I have almost 2 lbs of beet seeds! i certainly can give you some... and lettuce seeds... and... you get the idea..

Hi, I'm so glad you've found some hope -- hold on to that! I'm all

sympathy...I really wish I could send you seeds; I had an entire

heirloom garden in the backyard of the house I lost last year, heh.

Anyway, I do have one small suggestion that might help. It may seem

weird, but check out http://www.flylady.net -- they have a message-group

like this, too. THIS IS NOT A HEALTH SITE at all, nor is it about

selling anything...it's just a system of organization for homes and

families. If you read some of the Testimonials on the group, you'll see

that in many cases, really stressful, nasty situations can be alleviated

somewhat by giving family-members (especially kids and teenagers) a

sense of routine and order and neatness. And even if it doesn't help

them, it could really help *you* -- the FlyLady system has saved my

sanity more than once! And it helps you be positive and accepting of

whatever situation the Great One's thrown at you, when you can look

around and things are neat and organized. Anyway, I wish I could offer

more, but I hope that helps.

Kathy, it is very hard to live in a small space with a big family. I too do this out of necessity. The key is for you to show total positivity. hey are all of an age where negativity is king, so you must "polly anna" them to death hehe. Honestly these hard times will teach them some very important life values. Sit down and think of some positives with this place. It sounds like you have land to plant on, that's great! It means you will be able to have a garden and feed yourselves better than most Americans. What happened to you is truly awful, but don't let them make you and yours victims all your life. Choose to be happy again hon, eventually the kids will pick up on your attitude.
