Guest guest
Sara (and I'm not sending this off-list even though it's a bit OT, since other people may be able to use the information)....there is an organization called Freecycle, which uses email lists all over the country to trade items for free. Just go to www.freecycle.org, click on your region, and sign up for one or more lists in your area. People post things they have to offer for free (frequently gently used children's clothing) and things they want, also for free. The cardinal rule is that everything must be offered for free. I have freecycled most of the stuff that had accumulated in my basement and people were incredibly happy to have it. It was all stuff that was still in great shape, much too nice to be tossed, but too much trouble to sell in some way. Anyway, I'd bet you can get clothing or other things you need from your local freecycle lists. I've even gotten food when someone nearby had ordered too much from her weekly CSA order and didn't want it to go to waste! I got a nice bag full of veggies and fruit -- organic! -- for free. I've gotten nice used clothing for my 18mo grandson (no since buying all new, since he's just going to mess it up<G>), have given away furniture, appliances, computers, ladders, clothing....heck, you name it, you can freecycle it, one way or the other. And if people from here send you things for your daughter that you can't use, you'll have it to offer so you won't feel like you're doing all taking. Same if you have leftover small baby clothing or items like changing tables, swings, etc. Sharyn From: Sara Thustra [mailto:sara.thustra@...] Any kind soul who sends me clothes for her (I could use them!) -- and anything I can't use will be donated to someone who needs it. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
