Guest guest
I have noticed that " I " take longer to clot than I used to when I was younger. Usually observed with shaving cuts, etc. Somehow, I thought that this was just a consequence of getting older; but now you have raised an interesting possibility, since I probably started noticing this at about the same time as I was aware of Samters symtoms (ie., withing a year or two of each other). Then there's the obvious question -- if aspirin reduces clotting, then why would an intolerance to aspirin also show up as reduced clotting? Very interesting. But what are: " extended PT or PTT or INR labs " ??? regards, Ken West From: james affinito <jamesaffinito@...> Reply-samters Date: Tue, 27 Jan 2004 12:15:10 -0800 (PST) samters Subject: Clotting Dear Samterites I am curious to know how others with Samters tend to clot. I have found that although it doesnt seem to cause any serious problems, I have an extended clotting period. I bleed quite a bit aspecially from rich capillary beds. Has anyone else experienced bleeding issues, or had extended PT or PTT or INR labs? jim

You don't know exactly what is in the cream, and anything with vitE, ginko, ginger, dong quai, fenugreek, horse chestnut, red clover, sweet clover, sweet woodruff, and a few others, could decrease clotting ability, and cause bleeding.
