Ok now I'm trying to help dh with a bad sinus infection....I had been mixing salt with Goldenseal for the nose which seemed to be working....this morning he's all congested again. What else can I add to this solution? I don't want to burn his nose being that it's already very tender. I have a tincture of Echinacea and of course garlic but I'm wondering if the alcohol would burn his nose? This man is really a work in progress LOL!

Some warm saline solution to wash out his sinuses would be good. I do that in the shower in the morning when I'm feeling congested. I bought saline this time, and can't remember the proportions....but maybe 1TB to a cup of water? Sea salt, of course....

Thanks to everyone for your help on this...he usually gets a spray called nasal cort (cortazone) after a few sprays it clears up....but he really is trying to stay away from that junk. I keep harping to him about herbs and natural ways, I think I may be getting thru to him.heather

Ahhhhh, don't forget the founder of this technique now! LOL Course I

only stumbled on it by accident and I don't use it this way because I am

never stuffed up. But it works and works really really well. And when

you are not snorting it you can use it on your salads, pizzas, or

anything else you might enjoy some heat on.

Guaranteed if you have a stuffy head, this will have you cleared out in

very short order. I think this even works better than plain cayenne.

Must be the combination of garlic, horseradish, vinegar, ginger and the

cayenne. Sure fire way to find out just how much mucus your sinuses do

hold and the pun is intended.
