Guest guest
Thanks Rica, She can’t have any of those things. Sugar and rice would make her *really* sick. Am working on her keeping down some weak ginger tea. So far that seems to be helping some. Though she is still throwing up about every 30 mins. Poor kid…. It has to stop soon. Guest guest
For some reason when I'm vomiting, drinking Sprite or eating popsicles helps. Wonder why sugar would HELP when you're sick. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the help. Seems there was no stopping this virus though. We threw in the towel around 2 am and took her in. Blood tests showed she was significantly dehydrated, which tells me I should have taken her in about 2 hours sooner. <g> Always drag my feet going to the ER as it’s a great place to GET sick. The Dr said he had already seen a number of kids with this same bug and that some of them didn’t stop vomiting with IV meds or the fluids and had to be admitted. We were released at 7 am but she is still battling it. Doing MUCH better of course. I came down with it just minutes after getting home this morning! I haven’t had a GI bug for well over 5 years, but this thing is like a steam roller. Feeling better tonight. Another one of the boys had come down with it too. They seem to be doing better then and I though. Hopefully Monday will find us all on the UP swing here. I won’t say it ‘couldn’t get worse’ because I have learned, that indeed it can! Guest guest
Carol, How about an epsom salt or ginger salt bath to draw out the toxins? Also make sure you're taking your super tonic Suzidoihavtasay <doihavtasay@...> wrote: Thanks everyone for the help. Seems there was no stopping this virus though. Guest guest
I only was able to try the Ginger tea and she was too weak to sit in a bath. We ended up being admitted and just got home a little while ago. Her tummy just would not stop retching, even water on her tongue, not swallowing it, made her vomit. She ended up on IV’s with more phenigan to make her stomach stop the retching. After she woke up from her nap this afternoon, it was as though the virus had left as quickly as it came. I have to come to see that virus’ are pretty impressive entities. At least when it comes to . Wish I knew what to do for her to help her. If I boost her immunity too much , her LS flares. But she obviously has a hard time fighting some of them off. I don’t know if her GI track could handle the ST. It might be way too caustic for her? I need to work on this, but not tonight. Am tired and need sleep. J Thanks for the help and prayers. I was reading about you cat troubles, if the area is dirt, lay down some chicken wire so they their claws get caught when they dig to pee. Ammonia will attract animals to the spot because pee smells like ammonia. You could try some of those enzymes used for carpets to ‘eat’ the smell and then put some moth balls there. I know the chicken wire has been very successful for many people. You can put a thin layer of dirt on top to cover it up.
