Use the whole plant for your tincture. Better amend your soil with lots of organic compost, humus, some sand etc. Loosen it up some. Sounds like you have a fair amount of clay in your soil or it is Arizona soil (hard as a rock and packed) -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man. I wonder where I can find Cal. fig extract? > Eibhlin ======================= Hi Eibhlin, I wouldn't worry about Fig Extract. Any fruit extract will work. The fig extract is used to make it taste more palatable to children and is also very useful in helping to keep them regular (so they don't get constipated). If you want you can make your own extract by taking a bunch of dried figs and slowly cooking them in distilled water till they become mush. Then strain out the solids and reduce the liquid till it is syrupy. Crock pot works really well for this. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man.
