Guest guest
VERY interesting info from Shattock; I saw a physician in ton SC (Dr. Allan Lieberman) who also believes that pesticides are a real problem; I recently moved, and he recommended that I NOT live in a golf community because of that very reason: pesticides dumped on the greens. It is also very interesting about Epstein Barr; as a teenager I was diagnosed TWICE with mononucleosis , and now I end up with three nids kids----there's a connection there Kate
Guest guest
.... went to a Seminar last night and Shattock (high opioid/phenol-sulphur-transferase research) said that blood/urine test results are showing up the same as people with CFS. He recommends digestive enzymes/bromelain supplement, MSM (organic sulphur), omega 3 and/or 6 essential fatty acids. He explained that basically many our kids are *poisoned* by betacasamorphine (sp?) from cow's milk and often gliadin from wheat. It is not going to show up on allergy testing, antibodies won't be present. They have now begun doing tests on ADD children, and already many of them are showing the same results. He also believes pesticides are lowering our children's immune systems. And Epstein-Barr shows up in almost 90 percent of the population as a whole- -- http://members.xoom.com/Neil_S_/
Guest guest
They recently banned two different pesticides on foods. This is a recent article about concerns about another. We stopped using any around our home five years ago as our doctor at the time reccommended. EPA: Widely used pesticide may pose health risk October 29, 1999 Web posted at: 12:00 PM EDT (1600 GMT) http://cnn.com/NATURE/9910/29/epa.insecticide.ap/ Found in more than 800 products, the pesticide is now under review by the Environmental Protection Agency, which in a preliminary risk assessment says it's so pervasive it potentially could pose health risks to people, especially children. sold under the trade names Dursban and Lorsban. " Chlorpyrifos is one of 40 organophosphate pesticides under scrutiny as the EPA seeks to determine the health risks they pose, especially to children. The assessment stopped short of saying there was a clear public danger, although it said there was some evidence the chemical could affect the nervous system in humans. Still, it is one of the most widely used pesticides, with between 20 million and 24 million tons applied annually, according to the EPA. Produced by Dow AgroSciences of Indianapolis, the pesticide can be found in everything from pet collars to insecticides applied to food crops, lawns and gardens. The chemical also is used to kill termites and indoors as a bug killer in hospitals, homes and daycare centers. The products are so " widely used by both homeowners and pest control operators and lawn care operators " that " the majority of the U.S. population is exposed to chlorpyrifos, " the EPA review found. A study of 993 adults found eight in 10 had " measurable concentrations " of the chemical in their urine. A study of 89 children found nine of every 10 also with measurable concentrations, the review said. Guest guest
Neil, Omega 6 is not the same as omega 3 fatty acids. The most common source of that in this country is corn oil and we get far too much of it in our diets. Omega 3, on the other hand, is very difficult to get in the typical American diet as the main source of that is deep sea fish. So are you sure that he said take either or? They have different roles to play in the body and it is my understanding that we need a balance of both. Kathy
Guest guest
I just had to say my wife tried ldn for chronic fatigue after all I had lots here, but when it didn't work we finally had her iron level checked, and that was the culprit, now after only two weeks on iron and other pills she is starting to feel like a new woman. Maybe that is something to consider too? She was rundownfeeling for years always thought she had chronic fatigue and until we asked for an iron test none was scheduled. I will shut up now & get off my soap box. Glad to know the wife is feeling better! Guest guest
Hi Sheryl, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is treated symptomatically as well as the underlying cause in herbal medicine. Astragalus is a good herb to look into and is very safe. It boosts your whole immune system and adapts to the body’s needs. For the fatigue part of CFS, I found ginseng to help a lot (Chinese variety), taken for no more than 2 weeks at a time with a month of rest in between. If you can find a practitioner that can take a hair sample and blood tests for vitamin and mineral deficiencies, you can have a compound pharmacist make you a personalized supplement as well. No meat or processed foods, lots of veggies and fruits, etc. Exercise daily, but do it gently (walk instead of run, etc.) Rest when you can, many CFS patients have sleep disorder so a regular bedtime routine is important. Support and encouragement from family and friends is really important, because a lot of people tend to look at you like you are just lazy and that is very depressing. Keep the positive things going in your life, get rid of the negative. For more specific help, I would need to know more about what symptoms are occurring.
