Had Brock and WHAMO! :Problem solved! But I had it BAD. I'd wake up with a mouth full of stomach acid and spend the next 1/2 hour doing everything to try to get that horrid taste out of my mouth. Wonder why pregnancy brings that on. Anyone? Candace ----- Original Message ----- From: Anne Bird Hawk-Health Sent: Monday, December 20, 2004 2:16 AM Subject: Control that heartburn Which leads me to a question... I was watching a 2am infomercial about some herbal guy selling a book and one of the things he talked about was heartburn. He said heartburn is caused not by too much stomach acid but by NOT ENOUGH! Said instead of taking things to suppress stomach acid, try taking a couple tablespoons of vinegar instead. Medical doctors prescribing drugs for acid reflux and heart burn KNOW they're getting you hooked for life because it keeps your stomach from making acid so as soon as you get off the drugs your old problem comes back. Anyone know how true that is? CandaceIf I still got heartburn, I would certainly give it a try....why not?I had heartburn for about 10 years but after changing my diet, eliminating grains, sugar and refined foods and eating lots of Raw stuff, I have not had heartburn for over two years. Reducing stress also helps.AnneVA USA

I started taking acidolphus between meals, DGL abt 20 minutes before a meal and vegtable enzymes after the meal. I did this for a year or so, but would still had problems if especially eating stuff like chili, tacos, Icecream, fatty stuff or white flour of any kind. SOOO... Now, for the past month or so no more meats, no more fat of any kind other than a bit of olive oil and UDO oil and if i take some extra lactobacilus (sp)I can even have a glob of lowfat sour cream or quacamoli. I have not had an eruption of acid for the whole month. Once in a while during the day, i take a few drops of TT and everyday a raw egg with organic non-engineered soy milk with 2 TBS of Total Nutrition whipped in blender. True, I get crazy ideas of having a big juicy burger or a half gallon of icecream, or a double rich banana cake or what ever, but i really go light on such, remembering the pain that will come my way if I succumb! I have to go back to surgeon ont hte 12th of Jan to let him know if I want the galstones taken out, but I think I will hang in there for awhile more. Have had a few pass in past years, but just may never have another before I die and if worst comes to worst..there is always emergency surgery : ). I am just so thankful that my stomach is behaving as well as it is! I hope this will help someone..it has really helped me.-- lee/leo

I really haven't had much of interest to contribute and Momma always said 'if you can't find something nice to say..keep your mouth shut!' so I figure not typing out something is like keeping my mouth shut <G> love, lee

I am glad to hear that you are doing quite well. As for the gallstones, are you drinking lots of water? Adding any fresh squeezed lemon into it? Lemon will help to dissolve those pesky gallstones. Also the liver bomb will help to eliminate them too, if you feel up to doing it. Might save you some surgery. Anyhow, it sounds like your diet has improved quite a lot. Good for you.
