Guest guest
Hello Folks, Thank you all for your responses, both private and public. I realy appreciate them and the time it takes to help someone (a stranger) out. I was totally brokenhearted when I got home, armed with new knowledge on raw feeding, flowe ressences and other homeopathy (and some conventional treatments) and my mother said to me " After spending $1000 at the vet, I'm goign to do what she says " . Wouldn't it make sense that after 1000$, and no relief, you would try SOMETHING ELSE? The exact opposite? no matter how hard I tried, I could not convince her to put the dog on a rawfed diet, nor discontinue the chemical dips, antibiotics, thyroid pills, kidney pills, antifungal ointments...the whole 9 yards. (yes, this dog is on ALL OF THAT! plus prednizone) I am really disenheartened and though the dog is getting better, i find her lack fo interest and enthusiasm really upsetting. The dog IS GETTING BETTER however. I think that the dip (week 3 of the dip) has finally helped get rid of it..and the steriods have helped with the itching, but I think there were better ways. I also think that as long as she's feeding him kibble, his skin and immune system will be slightly compromised and he will continue to have sensitive skin. I just wanted to update you all, and say thanks. I have found a holistic vet in my area (Danvers, Mass.) and we're doing more reading in order to bring our cats to a rawfed diet. Thanks for the help, concern, compassion and information,
