Guest guest
Thanks for the information on Artichokes, . This is an item of interest for me and your timing was good. I've got a good friend from Viet Nam who knew about my GB problems and recently brought me about a thousand bags of ARTICHOKE TEA from his last trip back home. He says it is fairly well known remedy there, it being used to prevent and cure GB and other stone problems. He suggested that I take it every day and assured me that people who drink the tea have no more GB problems. I wasn't a big fan of this tea, flavor-wise, and would never select it by choice but it isn't awful and I've had some friends who want to buy some because they actually like the flavor. I have a cup 2-3 times a week but now that I've heard confirmation about the effects I may try to drink more of it, it is tasting better all the time. I can't read the label but it seems to be nothing but pure artichoke. I'll have him read the full label for me sometime. Likewise, I don't know if the tea is available here in the land of swollen gallbladders and sharp scalpels. Stay tuned, Will in Minnesota
Guest guest
I haven't and so far no problems... sometimes if they look too perfect I do peel them though. Would you still need to peel them after doing this? Love and Light Tracey
Guest guest
I take a bowl and throw in a tablespoon or so of salt, then a shot or two of lemon juice. Fill up with water and wash the veggies, then rinse them off. Guest guest
Italians eat tons of artichoke. What they do is pick them with some stem attached. Then pare them down so you have the heart and peeled stem, then slice it up. Make sure to have some water with fresh lemon juice nearby to put them in as you work or they will turn brown. After you have the amount you need blanch them (place in boiling water 1 minute, remove to cold water to stop cooking). They are wonderful in salads and dips. Hope this helps.
