Hi Candace,

Sea salt is salt that has not been refined, hopefully. They say celtic

grey is the best but I notice that everyone seems to be gravitating

towards the Himalayan salt now. Hmmmm..... regular salt is usually

processed and heated beyond all recognition. Best to stay away from

regular table salt.

Considering you are plugged up I wouldn't use any IC#2. Use psyllium by

itself in sufficient water. As for the IC#1 I strongly suggest you take

it 3 times per day 1/2 hour before meals. You should cut down so you

don't have diarrhea though. You don't want diarrhea but you do want to

have a bowel movement after every meal. If you don't do breakfast then

do 1/2 hour before lunch and 1/2 hour before supper and right before you

go to bed. The purpose is to keep you regular, slowly dissolving the

dried caked on fecal material and feeding and toning you intestinal

muscles back up to where they can work on their own without any help. I

only suggest using an enema if you are having regular bowel movements.

Otherwise, it can be pointless or worse painful. Eventually your bowels

will get evened out and you won't be running to the toilet every time

you turn around.

Then do the cleanse. Do it and stick with it. You might need to use the

IC#1 more than once a day though and I would have no problem with

changing that. NO cleanse is carved in stone. They are just guidelines.

Peace be with you Candace.

Okay so for the sake of understanding, when you take it at night, only

once during the day, what is or are your bowel movements like the next

day? Loose and soft or very hard and firm? Is it painful to have the BM

or easy and painless? I realize it isn't much fun having to get up and

go when you need to get up and go but it can't be much fun being

constipated for weeks on end either. So then go back onto your IC#1 and

take however much you need to take to get you moving and stick with it,

as long as it doesn't produce diarrhea. It will take as much as it takes

to keep you moving whether it be 10, 20, 30 or 40 or more. You need to

find that amount and stick to it until you have thoroughly cleansed your

body and are eating lots of fresh fruits and green leafy veggies. Try to

stay away from the starchy veggies, breads, pastas and anything else

that will constipate you.

Wouldn't Dr. 's Lower Bowel Formula be better for her than

IC#1? I know that they are similar...but I have been doing some

thinking on these two formulas...and think that Dr. 's Lower

Bowel Formula might be better in this instance...than the Intestinal

Cleanse formulas...am I wrong in my thinking?

Hi Caroline,

Good question and I am glad you brought it up. Thanks. ly, either

way will work.. The problem that I am seeing is her reluctance to take

it more than once per day. I can understand this. It is possible that

Dr. 's formula might work better as it is more gentle in its

action and might be a lot less intrusive on her sleep. No you are not

wrong in your thinking. I have used 's formula myself and I

know how it works. I also know how IC#1 works too. The lower bowel

formula has more of a laxative effect where the IC#1 is more likely to

act as a purgative. Now it will all depend on what she has or has access to.

Hi Candace,

Are you sticking to a raw diet of fresh fruits and green leafy

vegetables? What else are you eating that may be contributing to this

condition and/or drinking? You really need to drink lots and lots of

water. This is one of the major key points in preventing constipation.

Not juices, not teas, but plain everyday water and yes, add some lemon

to it.

Maybe you should obtain the herbs to make Dr. 's LBF as

Caroline mentioned. It will be easier on your body and you really should

be taking this 3 times a day. I really think your body needs that extra.

I agree 20 years is a long time but if you stick to mostly raw you won't

have much problem once you get your bowels working again.

Since next week is the start of my cleanse, I'm going to take it 3 times per

day like you said and phooey on getting sleep!

I want to do the cleanse but know eveything has to be able to make its way

OUT so I need to do something NOW. Once I got that big clog out of the way

last night and this morning, I've already gone twice today and it's only 1

p.m.! So maybe I won't be taking it 3 times daily for long.

=======================================

I can't agree with you more on this. Using Epsom salts and MofM or any

other unnatural forms of bowel loosening devices can create real

problems if you are severly impacted or even if you aren't. Best is to

always use a natural gentle herb based one or food based one as in prunes.

Yep, the cheese gets me everytime to which is why I have totally given

it up along with any other dairy.
