Now Suzi swears by her Jack LaLanne and even goes so far as to admit the ease of cleaning it. LOL As for me, yes I have one too but only because that is all they have here in Slovenia and I can tell you that I don't particualarly think it is easy to clean at all. Especially the danged screen. But that is because it is a centrifugal juicer that spins the juice out of the pulp. However, I do think it is a fine juicer for the money and as long as you aren't trying to force feed it the motor does just fine. Now those nice wonderful high power Green Star juicers and such are truly wonderful in that they are very powerful but they too have their drawbacks. I have heard folks mention how easy they are to clean and others say they aren't. I have heard they are easy to juice with and others say they take too long to juice anything and you really have to push to get the stuff down into where it can be juiced. There are pro and con with each and every type of juicer. So I guess my recommendation would be to follow your instincts and to heck with others opinions. No matter what anyone tells you about a certain model, as soon as you buy it you are going to find the pros and cons for yourself. The only thing I can't get the Jack juicer to do is juice greens. Doesn't matter how I try it just will not do it. Anything else it does wonderfully well with. Shoot, , I guess I just don't quite know what to tell you. Hopefully, I have given you something to work with. ;-) -- Peace, love and light, Don " Quai " Eitner " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man. Guest guest
Don – I, too, think the Jack LaLanne juicer is easy to clean. It takes me less than 5 minutes to wash by hand. The easiest way I’ve found to clean the screen is to put it under running water, turning it in my hand as I scrub with the included brush. It usually comes clean with the first “turn”, and I just have to hit a couple of areas a few more times to get all the pulp off. Guest guest
I have a Braun that's more than 15 years old. Easy to clean and still runs well, although I don't use it every day. Sharyn From: Candace Podratz [mailto:momofbrock@...] I have a Juiceman Jr. So far it hasn't died on me! I'm sure it's not the best because it wastes a lot but it's all I could afford at the time! Suzi....I used to have one of those Ronco dehydrators (as seen on tv), but not sure if I tossed it or not. Would that work in a pinch? I have a juicer, a wheatgrass juicer, a super small food processor, 2 blenders, a rice cooker, and a coffee grinder. My bread machine broke and I am definitely on the lookout for another one. I didn't buy bread for years when I had it. I think Mr. Trotter's recipes are a bit too elaborate for me at the moment. I also got The Complete Book of Raw Food and that's more my speed. I keep renewing it and one of these days I'll buy my own copy. The Borscht in is excellent!!!! They also have a raw tomato sauce recipe. I think someone was asking for one. Guest guest
When I got my juicer I went nuts juicing everything and I couldnt' find a single veggie combo I liked other than carrots mixed with fruit. Maybe that's something I'll have to get used to. Most veggie juices should have carrot as the base. For instance, I can't stomach plain celery juice, but if I mix it with carrot (more carrot than celery) I can handle it. Likewise for beet juice or any other veggie. Always use more carrot juice with them. There are even combos like carrot, beet and apple. You can try mixing and matching to suit your taste. When I started juicing years ago, I was told that Calif. carrots were the sweetest and the best for juicing so I always check labels and try to get them. Guest guest
Hi Candance I juice apples, carrots, beetroot, ginger, different types of spinach and green/red lettuces. It is really nice as long as the greens are not bitter ones. Tracey No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
