have had swelling in my feet and ankles for the last 3 mos. I was taking vioxx for inflammation but had to go off quickly, Dr put me on Mobic, she thought this was causing the swelling, but it continues. I have hypertension and take BP medication, I watch my intake of salt, I have tried cornsilk tea, cranberry juice and elevation. Nothing seems to help, some swelling goes down but as soon as I1m up it starts again. Cille

Cille,

I had the same problem. Unintentionally, I took care of it. I started eating whole foods, and within a week, the edema went away. I think it was due to snack bars made from fruit, nuts, whole grains and seeds. The reason I know it was the whole foods, is that I went away for several weeks, and after about a week, the edema came back. When I got back home, and started eating the bars again, it went away and has not come back. I suspect that is has something to do with the protein in the bars. The reflux that I was having went away, came back, and then went away again at the same time.
