Guest guest
I have this one...WILL LOOK FOR MORE WHEN I GET HOME Slippery Elm and Raw Honey Lozenge Ingredients: 1/4 cup Slippery Elm powder Enough Raw Honey to make lozenges – maybe 2 TBS I’ve just had a cold, sore throat, and sinus congestion. Thank the Goddess for Slippery Elm and Honey Lozenges! I had made them some time ago and was really glad to have them on hand. I keep them refrigerated. You know that feeling in the back of your throat that feels scratchy? These lozenges soothe and coat the throat so well that once you’ve tried them, you too will be sure to have them ready for use all the time. And not only are the lozenges comforting and soothing, but they are healing too. Slippery Elm absorbs toxins – and that includes bacteria. Raw honey is also anti-bacterial. Together they are strong medicine. Just what you need when you feel like I just felt. To make Slippery Elm and Raw Honey Lozenge put about a 1/4-cup of the Slippery Elm powder on a dinner size dish and add about 2 TBS of the Honey to the top of the powder. Fold over the powder and keep mixing – with your hands – until the consistency is sort of like clay, but a little more tacky. Add more Slippery Elm powder or Raw Honey as necessary. Be sure to use a thick really raw honey, if it’s too liquid it won’t work. Once you think you have the right consistency (it isn’t an exact science) roll it out like a long rope about 1/4 inch in diameter. Cut the rope into 1/4 inch pieces, put in a jar and refrigerate. They will harden up. likes to add about a tablespoon of Licorice powder to his lozenges. Just mix it with the Slippery Elm powder, then mix with the raw honey. When your throat needs soothing take a piece and suck on it until it melts and disappears. Use as many as you want, they are completely safe. Both Slippery Elm and Raw Honey have a very extended shelf life and these lozenges will last for more than a year.
