Guest guest
hi, I have it too...have not tried it myself..please let me know your progress on it..barbara barbieiam@... [low dose naltrexone] LDN for Psoriatic Arthritis? Hi Everyone! After 2 1/2 years of trying everything from oatmeal baths, methotrexate, PUVA therapy, Remicade, Enbrel, and other similar treatments that I was prescribed by my dermatologist, I had just about given up on having any kind of quality of life. Then I started seeing a Homeopath who has now prescribed for me 3 mg of LDN per night, as well as put me on a Detox Kit to flush my system. I have taken 6 doses so far, but I don't see any difference in my skin, and my joints are still killing me. Does anyone else in this group have Psoriatic Arthritis? Any suggestions? And, do you think that the Detox Kit may be affecting my body's response to the LDN? Thanks for any input.~Lyn in California
Guest guest
It is thought to be autoimmune-based, so I would hang in there with the LDN longer. Also, while I wouldn't think that a detox would interfere with the LDN, perhaps you should just try one thing at a time and see how you feel. Give the LDN at least 8 weeks and perhaps up the dosage to 4.5 mg. Although my experience was with Crohn's lesions, it took 6 weeks on 4.5 mg before we started noticing consistent improvement. Perhaps you can look up the experiences with people with RA on this site and see what their experiences were like if there are few with the psoriatic arthritis. Guest guest
I'll keep you updated. My next appointment with my doctor is 6/9... Hopefully I will have good news for you. Guest guest
Hi Lyn, I have been on LDN 4.5 mg for fibromyalgia, lichen sclerosis, psoriasis and arthritis that may be either, or both, osteo or psoriatic. I recently tested negative for all the inflammation markers and the one mutant gene they most commonly test for psoriatic arthritis, and my rheumatologist said that does not let me off the hook for psoriatic arthritis, since I do have psoriasis. The LDN definately helps the fibro, but not the psoriasis or arthritis, at least not yet, not to any noticable degree. But given their supposed autoimmune nature, I still cling to the hope that they will be helped in time, or at least not get worse. I'd settle for that. Meanwhile, I wake up every morning with a stiff back, and thank the LDN for my being clear-headed and more cheerfully energetic in spite of the pain. We just have to take courage and continue the good fight. I sure would like to hear from someone who has had their psoriasis and related arthritis disappear on LDN! That would be so encouraging, wouldn't it? Guest guest
I have Psoriasis also, and maybe PA in my ankles, depending on which Dr. you ask, it may be some other form. Anyway, my LDN is on the way from River pharmacy so I hope to begin with it in the next couple of weeks and I'll be happy to let you know how it goes Matt > > hi, I have it too...have not tried it myself..please let me know your progress on it..barbara barbieiam@... > [low dose naltrexone] LDN for Psoriatic Arthritis? > > > Hi Everyone! > > After 2 1/2 years of trying everything from oatmeal baths, methotrexate, PUVA therapy, > Remicade, Enbrel, and other similar treatments that I was prescribed by my dermatologist, I > had just about given up on having any kind of quality of life.
