Hi--I've just begun taking LDN for Crohn's/colitis- -I've now worked up tothe 4.5-mg-per-day dose. I am wondering what the experience of othershad been. ************ ********* ********* ********* ********* ********* *Hello S.T.!Welcome to the group! I was dx with Crohn's 30 years ago which progressed to Crohn's / Colitis a few years after surgery in Dec. 2002. Needless to say, no treatment worked for me throughout the years, until I tried LDN!I started LDN in March 2008 (3 months ago) and got immediate relief from symptoms and pain the first day! I had minimal side effects the first 2 weeks but they were not much different than my norm. Even though I had substantial symptom relief, I periodically had

"crohns-ish" days (probably do to poor food choices / alcohol consumption) . Each day got better and better. Now that I have been on LDN for 3 months – I feel healthy. I no longer feel the inflammation in my gut and the pain is completely gone. So, I would say that it might take about 3 months (maybe sooner for you) to "feel normal" even though you will have improved health each day. I believe that I may have "caused" a slight "delay" in my healing because I am an "undisciplined" Crohn's patient (poor choices). Even though I am "undisciplined, " LDN still works for me! If you are more disciplined than me...you may get the "full" benefit from LDN much sooner.I am due for testing (to compare to test results "before" LDN) in July but I "know my body" and I know that I am well. (I will share the results with the group.) I used to have a constant lower left-sided pain (colon) that caused me

grief every day for 2 years. In the first month on LDN it "dulled" and was kind of "in and out." The second month the pain was less and less and now after 3 months – it is completely GONE! I plan to take LDN for the "long-haul." I have complete faith that it will continue to work for me. There may come a time in the future when I "may not need" it anymore (remission/cure) but who knows? I have heard that others take it as a "preventative, " and I may do that as well. I am so grateful to LDN for giving me the opportunity to "know what it is like" to BE healthy after being ill for so long! I have not felt this good (and normal) in over 30 years!Best wishes to you. Please feel free to email me privately if you would like!Kindest regards,Patti (a/k/a livinwithcrohns)*dx Crohn's - June 1978*surgery - Dec. 2002 - Ileocolectomy/ resection*dx Crohn's/Colitis/ Acid Reflux -

Hi redspot, good to see you're back on track,

just be careful with your strictures, they will react if you eat too much vegetables. Since LDN increases the size of the intestinal area that has been inflamed, one gets tricked to think that everything is able to pass that area. I have the same type Crohns as you, so I have been there!

One other person with IBD (u.c.) forgot that she couldn't have chocolate, she forgot that since LDN made her feel so good, and she got a flare as a result.
