Guest guest
If it was a narcotic I might consider it, otherwise I would say it's no problem. Guest guest
If it was me, I'd skip the cortizone. [low dose naltrexone] Cortisone shot and LDN Tomorrow my orthopedic doctor might give me a shot of cortizone in my shoulder. Cortizone is a steroid, right? Will this be a problem with LDN? Guest guest
Get the cortisone shot. These are not usually high doses and do not last long in the system. I think a few weeks at most. Maybe one of the pharmacists can offer more detail on the duration. They are usually fairly localized and perforn a great function in simmering down an inflamed joint. It is not the same as systemic prednisone, and you do not have to taper off. For many, this is the only way to relieve symptoms of shoulder bursitis, tennis elbow, inflamed nerve roots of the spine, and dozens of other problems. One must follow their blood sugar if they are diabetic. Steroids tend to increase blood sugar levels for a short time. It is a choice - I do not know how this may affect LDN actions, but depending on how much disability you have due to your shoulder it might be worth the LOW risk. Cortisone really IS a wonder drug when used for these problems. First line of degfense for these problens would be NSAIDS - Ibuprofen, Advil, Celebrex, etc. The problem is they generally do not get enough saturation at the point of the inflammation. So an injection is in order, and this is very worth it and usually does the trick in one session. BCcotton <cotteni@...> wrote: If it was me, I'd skip the cortizone.
