Guest guest
Jada and others; In my post on Friday, I stated that, we started 5th round of chelation on my 3.5 year old son but since Friday morning he was not feeling well, and around noon he had temperature (fever). My son -- when he is sick -- pretty much stops eating. So after 4 doses, we decided to stop the chelation for this week. From Saturday afternoon, the temperature did go down (became normal) and he did eat but a little; however, he seemed in pain. Since he is non-verbal, therefore, he can't tell us. We could see that he was bending his legs and was crouching ... bone pain? But that was not it; Today morning he woke up fine -- had a good night sleep - -with no temperature but during breakfast all of sudden he fainted. He came back to normal within 15 or some seconds but than he was lethargic as if he had no energy. As the day progressed he got better, started eating, had his stool and no temperature. But around 5 p.m. he was doing pretty well but again all of a sudden he just felt like he is so tired and sleepy. We than consoled him and now he is sleeping. He does not do that, normally he is a very active kid and sleeping is the last thing he would want to do. We are so much worried. Since he is non-verbal we have no idea what's going on inside his body? Is it a reaction of missing the chelation cycle this week? Should we go on 3 days on 11 days off .... maybe 3/4 schedule is putting too much burden on him? Is he getting severely deficient on minerals and vitamins? Is it yeast? We're so lost and confused. We started chelation with so much hope ... and now we're so scared. Please advice. Thank you! -TS > > Well I got my answers..he fell asleep around 3pm and when I went to > check on him he was burning up. Guest guest
--- My son suffers from bone, muscle leg cramps and it always is a die off situation from yeast. IT is always resolved with Magnisum either rubbing the cream on or giving a couple hundred extra a day. I know myself if I get leg cramps extra calcium and magnsium helps. Guest guest
This does not sound chelation related. This would not happen because you stopped his round, which is what you should do if he had a fever. I think there is a viruses going around, because this is what happened with my son. He is doing better today. And after having done 37 rounds on him...the only time we see fever/illness is in relations to getting sick, not from the chelation. Is your child on supplements for chelation (vitamins/minerals)? If so, deficiency should not be a problem. I don't think your schedule is either. I did 3/4 for the first 8 months. I would give him a few days to recover from the virus that gave him the fever. Then plan to resume his chelation schedule. Sometimes some extra vitamin C, zinc, and A are good to get them over whatever they caught. > > > > Well I got my answers..he fell asleep around 3pm and when I went to > > check on him he was burning up. Guest guest
As per my previous post...he was just coming down with something. His fever of 102.8 appeared later that day. He's fine...now thank you for helping. Mag and Cal are important in preventing cramps. > > > > > > Well I got my answers..he fell asleep around 3pm and when I went > to > > > check on him he was burning up. Guest guest
Since the fainting happened in the AM, I am wondering if this is a blood sugar issue. I wonder if his hair test showed any blood sugar regulation issues? Tiredness is not an untypical chelation side-effect; what is untypical is for anything to go on for more than 24-36 hours. If you've done 37 rounds and haven't seen side effects go on for very long before, then I doubt that is the problem now. Just to check, what chelator have you been using, how much, and how much does he weigh? Also, you didn't mention it, so I assume he's never had seizures? Guest guest
Thank you Dave, Jada and others for your suggestions. My son is pretty much back to normal today. Got his appetite back. Hopefully it was a viral which is now gone. But we really got scared because he fainted. He has never fainted before like this. And no he never had seizures. Other than the developmental delays he has been a healthy and active kid. We have done so far 4 rounds. We give 12.5 mg each of DMSA and ALA on AC Protocol on a 3/4 schedule. Thank you, -TS > > Since the fainting happened in the AM, I am wondering if this is a blood sugar issue. > > I wonder if his hair test showed any blood sugar regulation issues? > > Tiredness is not an untypical chelation side-effect; what is untypical is for anything to go on for more than 24-36 hours. Guest guest
My son needed to be on a massive yeast protocol throughout his entire chelation. He needed to drink lots of water, which was hard because he had an aversion to water. Are you giving milk thistle to help the liver process out the toxins? 4x a day? What dose? Basically, my son who used to be less verbal and now is mostly recovered and very verbal felt like total crap while chelating. He didn't tell us this so we understood it though until it was almost over. It was to the point that he hated us for making him chelate even though he is recovered. If he complained about being tired, we would say, all you have to do is lay in bed. I didn't understand just how " tired " was the understatement of the year if you are chelating with weak adrenals until I tried a few rounds on myself. I felt fatigue like you wouldn't believe for a week afterwards, which could explain why someone who is normally active would want to sleep more during chelation. I would recommend you try a few rounds on yourself too, to understand how he is feeling. It isn't a pleasant experience to get those toxins out. It makes you feel crappy. It is so worth it though. My daughter and I can't chelate because it makes us too fatigued, we need to adress adrenals first. I wish we had adressed adrenals first with our son too, maybe it would have made the chelation more endurable for him. Bending over like that sounds like liver or kidney to me, or yeast, if it wasn't the flu. You could take two weeks off and really push yeast fighters and supplements, drinking water and even baths help with being very well hydrated, then resume if it was a mineral deficiency. I agree with all of your theories. The only thing that is scary to me is the fainting. That is not common at all. Maybe you could test his iron. Maybe you could back down on the dosage of chelator. also, it could be that since he had a fever, he also was crouching because of a tummy ache. It could have been nausea or flu like symptoms. We always discontinued a round with fever or flu symtoms. fainting could go along with flu and fever and that could have been the whole deal with that. The lethargy points to needing to address the adrenals, unless it was just a temporary condition because of the flu. There is a test for the adrenals and a NTH adrenal group for that Natural Thyroid Hormone Adrenals. We plan to go that route before chelating. My son never fainted. I would ask andy for sure on this one. I would google fainting on onibasu. My son never had a reaction to missing a chelation schedule. We skipped weeks all the time. As a matter of fact, we couldn't keep up the weekly, it was too much, we did do 3 days on then 11 off most of the time it was what his body needed. That is a great idea. Guest guest
I think this post should be put in the " files " section, I really do! (Though I would suggest maybe lowering chelation dose, rather than actually stopping while working on adrenals.)
