Increase the yeast protocol, this sounds like it is likely a yeast cough/mucus. http://www.danasview.net/yeast.htm Dana
Guest guest
Keep working closely with your doctor. If the bronchitis inflammation affects your son's ability to breathe, you should consider a steroid like prednisone to reduce the inflammation. Also consider switching antibiotics. This month my son was coughing for five days straight; he had no fever so I thought it was allergies. Then he sneezed and what came out indicated he most likely had a sinus infection. His doctor and I are not fond of using antibiotics either, but in this case she gave us Zithromax and the coughing has slowed down almost to nothing in a short period of time. Are you having your son use a saline nasal rinse daily? Are you nebulizing with saline, or with any asthma inhalants such as albuterol or ipratropium bromide? - Hokkanen Always cough, please help Posted by: " Jubita " jubita07@... jubita07 Thu May 8, 2008 6:34 pm (PDT) Hi all: My son ( 5 years old) always got cough with mucus, can anyone tell me how and what to take to boost up his immune system. Guest guest
My daughter used to cough alot until we started GFCF and the protocol. She had her last fit the couple of weeks after we started last year and she hasn't coughed since. (Where she used to have coughing fits once per month.) WHen my daughter's cough was strong, I would give her about 6 to 10 drops of Lobelia extract in some juice. i would also make her sleep propped on pillows and I would rub her with cool towels in the morning. She would also sleep close to her humidifier. If her coughs were mild, I would give her Chestial cough syrup with Honey. I got the Chestial from Whole Foods and the Lobelia from Good Nutrition From: danasview <danasview@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Always cough, please help Date: Friday, May 9, 2008, 9:08 AM > > Hi all: > My son ( 5 years old) always got cough with mucus, At my house, this meant intolerance and yeast. >>can anyone tell me how and what to take to boost up his immune system. Guest guest
Probably 80% of chronic cough in children is due to two conditions: upper airway cough syndrome and asthma. The next two most likely are postinfectious bronchitis and sinusitis. Upper airway cough syndrome usually responds well to short term daily use of older antihistamines (eg Benadryl, Chlortrimeton) and a nasal steroid spray. If you want to go doctorless, you might try normal saline nose drops in place of the nasal steroid. Asthma does best with inhaled steroids or long-acting bronchodilators. A single dose or at most a few doses of a short-acting bronchodilator (albuterol, Proventil) will usually cause a significant improvement that can establish the diagnosis. Postinfectious bronchitis Ilikely in this case because of the earlier fever) will eventually go away on its own but inhaled steroids can be a big help. Sinusitis, as says, requires an antibiotic; usually a nasal steroid (Flonase, Nasocort) is of added benefit. Guest guest
Our DAN had us give our son curcumin and quercetin, glutathione and he got rid of his cough in a couple of weeks. Guest guest
My DS hacking cough and ecezema are cleared up with a probiotic, magnesium and zinc. You are probably already giving all of these supplements, but perhaps you can increase them. For example, my DS gets 50 mg of zinc. I wanted to share this article which explains how important magnesium in dealing with allergies. It also mentions some other key supplements. http://www.naturalways.com/allergies.htm -- In , Jubita <jubita07@...> wrote: > > Hi all: >  My son ( 5 years old) always got cough with mucus, can anyone tell me how and what to take to boost up his immune system. Guest guest
Read Dr. Bock's book Healing the New Childhood Epidemics: Autism, ADHD, Allergies and Asthma. My NT daughter has had cough since she was a toddler and this winter it turned into asthma that ended us up in the ER and urgent care. We are now treating her asthma with the help of our DAN! doctor with great results. Two nutrients are very helpful for her: magnesium and MB12 injections. We are also chelating her. Inflammation is the common thread of these diseases, and so we're detoxing to get the metals out. Since adjusting her supplements, she's only had one very mild attack--and that's with NO asthma meds at all (I took her off the Singulair, Claritin, and inhaled sterdoid). Good luck! Guest guest
Jill - If that was oral glutathione, it was destroyed in the gut and didn't do any good. Quercetin is in dried orange peels. I save them, dry them, and put them in my tea. You might want to make up some luke-warm tea for this. My chinese doctor tells me that this is one preparation that works better when the substance is dried (you don't want fresh orange peel). She also tells me that this makes the mucous more fluid. Curcumin is just turmeric. In India it's common to put some (small spoon-full) in a glass of water luke-warm water and have the kid drink it. And just think, with this bit of knowledge, you can do without your DAN!(!) Dave. ---------------- Posted by: " Jill Carole " Jill@... robinsnd Date: Fri May 9, 2008 9:42 pm ((PDT)) Our DAN had us give our son curcumin and quercetin, glutathione and he got rid of his cough in a couple of weeks.
