Maybe I really need to lay off bread completely. Brown

I had the same exact reaction to just 1 slice. I am sure I am

hypoglycemic though. Cravings were unbearable that day.

How about Kamut bread? Are there any safe breads to eat on the diet

or should I avoid them altogether?

Hi Don

Remembered the other day that a local bakery about 3/4 hour drive

from home makes woodfired bread. Wasn't sure if it was still open

and sure enough it is. So today we went and got some spelt bread and

a wonderful heavy wholemeal fruit loaf.

I've told the kids that this is the only bread we are going to have

from now on. Also got some Biodynamic Essene bread from the health

food shop which was affordable.

Will have to get my dad onto the lemon juice and water because he is

always getting chest infections and believes because the doctor told

him it will always be this way and he has accepted this.

Not much chance of getting him to go raw as he grew up on a sheep

farm and doesn't eat much fruit at all. Have to try and get him to

have lemon and water and maybe I could get him to try the Super

Tonic Suzi referred me to the other day.

My husband is actually starting to feel better on more raw maybe

their is hope afterall. He really liked the Essene Bread.

I assume fresh fish would be a better choice than beef, lamb etc.

for those who want to eat some kind of flesh.

Any other suggestions for a replacement for the parmesan cheese in

the Artichoke receipe because we don't eat cheese or dairy.

Thanks

Hi Tracey,

Now, now let's be positive and optimistic. There is always a chance.

Just because one grows up eating meat doesn't mean they can't make the

change. However, they do need to see the benefits for themselves and

not just what others tell them. This is known as finding the truth and

ascertaining its validity for yourself.

Anyway, if one must eat flesh then certified organic is much better.

Fresh fish may or may not be good depending on the level of mercury it

may or may not contain. Thanks to the industrial revolution just about

everything is polluted now days.

For the parmesan cheese try this raw goody:

Parmesan

Cheese

By Jackie Graff

Living Food Feast from Sprout Raw Food

Ingredients:

2 cups macadamia nuts, soaked for 8 hours and

drained

2 cups filtered water

1 teaspoon salt

1 lemon, freshly juiced

1 cup pine nuts, soaked for 8 hours and drained

Steps:

Place macadamia nuts, filtered water, salt, and lemon juice

in blender and blend until smooth.

Add pine nuts and blend until smooth.

Spread cheese on teflex sheets as thinly as possible and

dehydrate until completely dry.

Scrape off teflex sheets using a spatula.

Crumble cheese and place in a container.

Note: Keep this cheese refrigerated and it will last

for a month or more. Dry herbs can be added for variety.

Hi Don

You are right. The best way for them

(mum and dad) to change is to see me in glowing health.

Can tell you I feel far from that at

present but there is hope.

Will have to get that dehydrator

because weather gone cold again so cannot rely on that to dry things

out.

Kids are to keen on the spelt bread

at all. I think it tastes wonderful.

Can you dehydrate potatoes to make a

healthy chip for the kids?

One way to feel better is to go to

bed, it is late but haven't had much of a chance to get on the kids

have been playing games and do educational stuff. Looks like I've been

made obsolete by a computer to teach them.

Hi Tracey,

Going from white bread to spelt is going to take some getting used to.

Your boys are all addicted to refined flour and sugars. They are going

to be going cold turkey here and having a bit of a tough time with it.

They are going to resist (most likely) until you either give in or they

realize that you mean what you say. One way you all lose and the other

you all win (though mum and dad might lose a little sleep). Better they

go through it now then when they get older. Their bodies are still

young enough to overcome and throw off the addiction with little

discomfort or problems. However, I trust that somewhere in all of this

you and they will come to terms and all will be well. It already is but

everyone doesn't see that yet. :-)

I have not been able to dehydrate a potato and have it turn our right

yet. Probably best just to let them eat em raw, in moderation of

course. That used to be one of my favs when I was growing up. Raw

potato or raw onions and anything spicy hot.

Parents will never be obsolete in the rearing of their own. Right now

they oh and ah over technology and playing games. You'll never be

obsoletel mum. Never!!

Peace be with you and your Tracey.

========================

Hi Tracey,

Not a problem. You just need to roll up the shirt sleeves and get

serious about your family's health and let them know you are serious. It

is hard for them as they don't conceptually understand yet. Very few

people can go cold turkey off the cooked foods, processed foods, junk

foods, etc. and never back slide. It is a transitory process that takes

time to overcome the mental and physical addiction caused by eating the

cooked, processed, junk foods, etc. Yes, I believe that kicking the food

addiction is much more difficult than quitting smoking, drugs, alcohol

etc., mainly because your body has been subjected to it since your mum

first fed it to you. It is known as comfort food because there are so

many pleasant memories attached to eating that way. It really isn't the

food that is comforting but the memories. The food just invokes those

memories. This is one of the reasons so many people have a hard time

going 100% raw. They like to keep a comfort food.

You'll get there. Just be positive, have faith in yourself and your

family and believe.

Peace be with you Tracey.
