Guest guest
Hi Our OT & us has found that wrapping ds up firmly in blankets & bean bags helped him regulate/calm down - though the results are not seen within seconds (I mean at the time he's upset, doing this will not result in immediate calming), we've seen his threshold level improves (ie he doesn't 'burst' that easily anymore & would calm down faster after a tantrum). I've also seen him hugging soft toys, peeling papers ( & even peeled open) a rubbery toy. Well, when he's outside the home, I thought of getting a pressure jacket for him - I heard Dr Grandin has invented one such jacket. Where can I buy this? Does Amazon.com has the jacket/items? Also, where can I get those squishing/rubbery toys for him to squeeze/pinch/peel? Don't want him to tear/peel other items in the house. He just dug another hole in the sofa. Appreciate any website or suppliers' contact (those in USA are fine as I have ways to ship them over). Thanks G
Guest guest
Have you looked a The Therapy Shoppe? They have lots of stuff. Pressure vests too I think. http://www.therapyshoppe.com/ They will send you a catalog if you request it. But they have tons of sensory and therapy items. -- In , " Goh " <gproger@...> wrote: > > Hi > > > Our OT & us has found that wrapping ds up firmly in blankets & > bean bags helped him regulate/calm down - though the results > are not seen within seconds (I mean at the time he's upset, doing > this will not result in immediate calming), we've seen his threshold > level improves (ie he doesn't 'burst' that easily anymore & would > calm down faster after a tantrum). > > I've also seen him hugging soft toys, peeling papers ( & even peeled > open) a rubbery toy. > > Well, when he's outside the home, I thought of getting a pressure > jacket for him - I heard Dr Grandin has invented one such jacket. > Where can I buy this?
