[ ] Ear Infection Help!!! Hello. I had to take our chelating, non-verbal child to the Emergency Room this past weekend because his ears were so badly infected that he scratched at them until there was blood everywhere. Typically they give Amoxicillin; which when given to him will make him stim non-stop for days (literally). They gave him something similar after that episode with the next ear infections a year later (I'm so exhausted right now I can't think of the name) and he broke out in hives and became beet red. This time they gave him azythromycin (sp?) and he has not stopped stimming for almost 2 days. I've stopped giving it to him, but I need to give him something because his ears are so bad and he just can't seem to tolerate anything! Please help- he's been stimming (verbal and the ever-so-popular " lunge " with the hand clapping) so much that he's literally dripping with sweat. I've tried to give him yeast cleanse which usually helps, but he threw it up. I gave him GSE and supercranberry extract, but he's still going at it. I'm just waiting for him to exhaust himself to sleep. Any suggestions, please? ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
If his ear drums are NOT perforated, you can use garlic and mullein oil ear drops. I used the Eclectic Kids brand and found it to work like a miracle for my daughter, who had severe ear infections and whose health has been compromised by the useless antibiotics and surgery she had for them. The ear drops would work over night. If your son has ear infections often, I would recommend that you use these every night until you're convinced that your son's immune system has improved and ear infections are not going to be a problem. I'm sorry I can't help you with the stimming he's doing now from the antibiotics. I hope he's better soon, poor guy. Anita > > Hello. Guest guest
Garlic oil...search the past post, I put up how to make it a few days ago.. Also feed him garlic if you can... If your not opposed to homeopathy, pulsatilla and sulphur can get rid of an ear infection... > > Hello. At my house, ear infections were usually caused by yeast overgrowth, and so giving antibiotics would have made the yeast problem worse. >>This time they gave him azythromycin (sp?) and he > has not stopped stimming for almost 2 days. > I've tried to give him yeast cleanse which usually helps, but he > threw it up. Guest guest
The cold socks treatment will help relieve an ear infection overnight: http://www.liferesearchuniversal.com/ear.html - scroll down to see the cold socks treatment. Long-term cranial osteopathy cured my daughter of her ear infections. http://www.cranialacademy.org/ will help you find a doctor that practices this and insurance paid for it for us. CranioSacral therapy is another option and many massage therapists are trained in this. You can find a practitioner through http://upledger.com/ . I feel for you and your child. I hope he gets better soon. > > Hello. Guest guest
I lay my kids down let them watch tv and fill their ears till a drop slides down their cheek with hydrogen peroxide. The most I have let it sit there is for 30 minutes. But if they can only be still for 30 seconds, then just do it several times a day. I try and get peroxide in my kids ears at least once a month. Ever since I started that---No ear infections!!! For 7 or so years now! Before that it was chronic ear infections needing stronger and stronger prescriptions. God bless the DAN! doc who told me to put peroxide in our ears! Once my daughter said her ear was hurting and she couldn't hear very well out of one ear. I laid her down, filled her ear and tugged on it in all directions. After about 15 minutes this dark red raisin looking ball of wax floated to the top. After draining it and filling it again just to wash it completely out, she said it was all gone and she could hear fine. She was about 6 or 7 at the time. good luck. winnchimes@... -------------------------------------------- Ear Infection Help!!!
