We don't even use antibiotics for ear and throat infections - actually

turn them down if prescribed. Instead, we use grapefruit seed extract -

10 drops in 6 oz of water and gargle for throat. Just put some drops in

ear for ear infection. For younger ones like yours, we just put the

drops in their mouth. If they spit them out, it doesn't matter. Works

pretty quickly if it is going to -sometimes less than 2 hours or even

immediate relief. We've never had to do this for more than 24 hours.

But, I have the kids do it a bit longer to make sure.

As for what you can do if you choose to do the antibiotics. Try giving

probiotics 1/2 way between dosing of antibiotic.

Hope he feels better soon.
