I would not want someone to forego that " extra expense " thinking it was not useful >> I saw medics x 2, both ASD specialists, IMHO most of them are guessing, just like we are but a mothers intuition counts for a lot in my book. My kid started with an ATEC of 142 in 2001 and scored 37 last March. No medics, 5 non invasive tests, mega amounts of reading and questions, Houston enzymes (and coming off diet) and AC protocol DMSA/ALA brought the most gains, neither of which any DAN would have recommended............ Guest guest
Hi, Part of the reason for seeing the eye specialist would be to rule out other causes, such as tumor, disease, etc. You may want to be sure what the condition is before assuming it is benign and treating naturally... ie - I'd make sure it was not a tumor or " other neurological condition " before assuming it just needs some vitamins, or OLE. OP stated this has been going on for quite some time with her DS. my sister had alot of eye issues, she still freaks me out because she sleeps with her eyes open, but, in general the eyes can give you clues to alot of health issues and if its possible financially to look into it - it could be well worth checking it out Suppose I'm a little apprehensive about the one size fits all medical " help " that I see going on every day on this board. It seems that there are alot of things that can be overlooked when one assumes causation is the same for everyone. I'm looking for good solid information here to deal with the known problems, ie heavy metal toxicity including mercury, however, I see alot of posts on here that are " maybe's " - not known problems - good solid information on handling those sometimes includes " see a specialist " and if its not XYZ it could be ABC - if its ABC, try 123... I just think we need to be careful about assuming every symptom can be adequately addressed by OLE/GSE.
