Guest guest
yes; i know exactly what this is; i just found this out last year ! THIS IS CRADLE CAP also called SEBROHEAH DERMATITIS (sp.?) This is NOT contagious; THIS IS CAUSED BY A DEFICIENY OF VITAMIN B2; VITMAIN B2 IS RIBOFLAVIN; RIBOFLAVIN helps Cradoe Cap but you must have doctor's permission to give Vitamin B2; you cannot give infants Nutritonal unless under support of a professional. Put s good oil on their scalps massage in lightly; Cradle Cap is one of the most common infant probmes known THEN ASK DOC for a prescription TO RIBOFLAVIIN VITAMIN B2 OR ASK DOC FOR A PRESCIRION FOR A MULTI VITMAIN MINERAL FORUMALS FOR INFANTS (ALWASY KEEP SUUPPLEMENTS OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN; esp. if the Supplemtns have Iron; iron is veru damgerpis if taken in excess) OR ASK PHARMACISTS OR CALL KIRKMAN' THIS IS A NUTRITANAL DEFICINEY #-- - In , " Nickerson " <cnickerson37@...> wrote: > > I just found the strangest fungus looking like thing on my twins scalp. They both have it. Its only on the top of their scalps. It is concentrated in certain patches and looks like a grouping of tiny dark brown spots. It scraped of easily with no redness underneath or discomfort. It is rather disgusting looking. I am wondering if anyone else has had this appear on their childs head. I just scraped it all off, and rubbed GSE on it for now. I googled it but all I found was ringworm of the scalp, and it doesnt really look like this and there is no hairloss. If anyone knows what it is or how to treat it, please let me know. For now I am washing all hairbrushes and bedding, hats and towels etc in vinegar, borax. > >
Guest guest
Thanks for the reply. I will google the name and check for pictures. It is the first time I have seen anything like this on my children. They are 4 years old. They both have it. Now they are identical twins. It just appeared probably within the last day or two. We have never used shampoo or anything on their heads. The only thing we have done was go swimming twice this week. It is definitely not dry scalp. Sorry for the description, but it has the consistency of ear wax and when it is scraped off it looks like it. Thanks again for your help. [ ] Re: OT Scalp fungus? Guest guest
what probably happend is this: the children went swimming which washed away all the natural oils in their scalp this dried their scalp allowing the cradle cap; so I would suggest put mineral oilo on theri scalps then use mild shamppo rinse; don't use a hri dryer to dry theri hari; this causes dry scalp; Them add a couple of teaspoons of Olive Oil a day or amke a salad daily with an oil based salad dressig and have this daily then I would add a good multi vitmain mineral tablet daily for 3 mos. Try adding biotin or other yeast control, see if that helps. More chlorine ideas http://www.danasview.net/chlorine.htm >> It is definitely not dry scalp. Try biotin first, because it is related to swimming. Dana
