Guest guest
The lab is in France, it was for Urinary Porphyrins. THE HPLC-UV+FLUORESCENCE INCREASED: Precoproporphyrin (PrCP) Uroporphyrins I & II (UP) Heptacarboxy porphyrin (7cxP) DECREASED: Hexacarboxy porphyrin (6cxP) AVERAGE: Pentacarboxy porphrin (5cxP) Coproporphyrins I & II (CP) THE URINARY CHROMATOGRAM (the page I really don't understand): OFF THE CHART: -Coproporphyins (CP) Reference is 100-200, she is 187, 77 (I dont understand the commas in the results) HIGH ON CHART: Uroporphyrin (UP) Reference is 8-20, she is 22, 60 Precoproporphyrin (PrCP) Ref=5-9, she is 13, 04 Heptacarboxy porphyrin (7cxP) Ref=2,5-4,5 She is 4,86 THE REST: 6cxP Ref 0,5-1,5 SHE is 0,25 5cxP Ref 2-4, SHE is 2,76 There is another page Titled " TOXIC SENSITIVITY OF DIFFERENT PORPHYRINS " - Which I also don't know what that test means either. It lists HIGH PORPHYRINS + ENZYME ABNORMAL + POSSIBLE CAUSE - Enzyme Abnormal URO-D= Uroporphorin decarboxylase Poss Cause: High Arsenic and org. chem. such as (PCB) -Enz Ab: URO-D & COP-O (copropophyrin oxidase) Poss Cause: high mercury and organic chemicals -Enz Ab: COP-O (test was high 5cxP+6cxP) Poss Cause: high mercury -Enz Ab: COP-O (test is high CP) Poss Cause: High lead I also worry because I sent the test regular mail, but they got it 7 days after I sent it. Thanks in advance, this is a lot of stuff any imput would be appreciated greatly. > > > > Hi > > I just got my daughters results in and she of course tested high. Guest guest
Just my opinion, but there are lots of variables there. a) You're barely above the reference ranges, so it seems like the test is inconclusive. The reference ranges may not be fully accurate. [Who in their right mind does a costly urine test like this on a normal kid? Did the lab do a good job of finding a good reference range for normal kids?] c) Your sample took a week to get there... and may have been disturbed in transport (with heat, etc) d) tests are rarely completely accurate and with metals issues it's common that they don't tell the whole story. [btw, Europeans use commas the way we Americans decimal points.] Why not try an 10-12 week trial of Cutler chelation and see if you see any results? Given the low doses and scientifically based protocol the chances of it being safe for your kid are high, esp. if you support him with proper supplements. More than anything, that will give you your answer. Best of luck in whatever you choose to do. > > > > > > Hi > > > I just got my daughters results in and she of course tested > high. Guest guest
Hi , What kind of test did you have done? Which terms? If you post the test results maybe some on this list can help interpret. High heavy metals Posted by: " j.r4mom " j.r4mom@... j.r4mom Wed May 21, 2008 10:03 am (PDT) Hi I just got my daughters results in and she of course tested high. I don't know where I can look up these terms or where a website is that has good info. We just had our first DAN! appt and did the lab, we don't have another appt scheduled until the end of June so I don't know what to do until then, except research. _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web! Guest guest
Yeah, sorry, I would go with a hair elements test from Direct Labs myself. Much cheaper, very accurate. Or like they said, if you know there are metals...try a few rounds. Unfortunately DAN's often recommend very expensive testing that is not really needed. The treatment is going to be the same anyway. Are they trying to verify mercury toxicity for insurance purposes? I would call the doctor and ask that someone over there explain this lovely test they bilked your insurance for, rather than waiting an entire month. I am sure you are paying dearly to see this doctor and it should not be a huge inconvenience for a nurse or someone to tell you if it means anything or not. You may also try contacting the lab and asking for an explanation of the results. Most labs give those usually, or at least tell you if the levels are above range or abnormal. If they use parenthesis instead of decimals as indicated below, the it looks like some of the things are above normal range. But we don't know if the ranges are for children or adults. If this is 22-60 then it's higher than 8-20 Uroporphyrin (UP) Reference is 8-20, she is 22, 60 If this is 13-04 then higher than 5-9 > > Precoproporphyrin (PrCP) Ref=5-9, she is 13, 04 If this is 4-86, then higher than I don't know what the hooey this is... > > Heptacarboxy porphyrin (7cxP) Ref=2,5-4,5 She is 4,86 > > > > > > What kind of tests?? > > > We can help if you explain the test done, and the results. > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I would really like to know what precoproporphyrin is. I had read somewhere that hair is the best. Unfortunatly, they did not bilk the insurance, it was my pocket book that covered it. The lab was in France, which may be part of the reason it is difficult to understand. The whole comma thing has thrown me for a loop. > > > > > > > > What kind of tests?? > > > > We can help if you explain the test done, and the results. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
- I agree with the other poster that this test is negative. Andy has posted some interpretive material in the files section, in which he says, " People with mercury poisoning will usually show elevation of coproporphyrins and sometimes uropoprhyrin. The elevation is usually not a subtle effect 2 or 3 times the upper normal limit being common. " You may know that this test is very delicate and can easily show false negative. Have you done a hair test? Dave. -------- Posted by: " j.r4mom " j.r4mom@... j.r4mom Date: Wed May 21, 2008 10:03 am ((PDT)) Hi I just got my daughters results in and she of course tested high.
